Hello, I am only 13 but I have picked up a lot of fossils. I don't know what half of the fossils are. I hope you can help. I found this fossil on the Jebal Hafeet nountain in Al Ain, UAE. It is very small. I am curious as to what it is. It looks like some sort of coral. The area l found it in was known for its marine fossils. I also found several larger corals on the same mountain.

Hey guys. I've been extremely ill, and missing my fossils. Staying with my mom for a while, she pulled out a box of fossils she found on the shore at Pelee Island, Canada on Lake Erie. It's near Cedar Point, and Port Clinton Ohio. Some I was able to identify for her, but I don't know these. I'm pretty sure one is just suggestive stone, and not a worn tooth, but I'll ask that one too for verification. First one looks like a cephalopod to me, but I am not familiar with this area's fossils. The second one is a vertebrae from something. The third is the one I'm pretty sure is just rock, but double checking. The last one, I just don't have a clue. More pictures coming in reply.

I found this in the sulphur river in North East Texas. It is covered in a thin, light grey layer layer of rock and the center is a glassy looking grey/tan material with vain like patterns and a scaley texture. It has a smooth bottom that looks like it might have been attached to a smooth surface. It was in the wall of the river about ten feet below ground level. It broke when I hit it with a metal tool while I was digging. Any help with identifying this would be great. I've had it for years and have not seen anything that looks quite like it.

I'm not sure what this is. Looks like a little fossil cauliflower. Echinoid, coral, or neither? Sw Fl, pliocene. Any help appreciated.

Was inspired to look through my "unknown" bits, was wondering if any of these 3 might be coral, or what they are if they're not. The bottom of the third one is covered in shell bits and not visible yet, but can add if you need. Thanks in advance! Sw Fl.

I am a first time user and novice fossil hunter, so please excuse my lack of knowledge. I do not know what time period this comes from, although I believe most of what I find is from the Devonian period. I mainly look where I live (Big Rapids) and have pulled a number of these rocks out of my garden while preparing for spring planting or tilling down at the end of Fall. I typically find quite a few honeycomb and horn coral, which I can usually identify, but I have come across a number of items I am not sure of, one of which is below. Any help identifying this would be appreciated.

Hello all, I am still working on this very large project in the Lower Glen Rose Formation near Spring Branch, Texas. Are these marine fossils? Or are they minerals?

This is a Florida beach find from about 25 years ago. We don't remember the exact location, but somewhere between Ft Meyers and Tampa. It reminds me of sponge but that's just a guess. It could be just an interesting rock, but has those large holes and very small pores. Any help is much appreciated. Thank you.

So I came across this "weird stone. possibly a fossil. The pattern goes all the way through the stone. Found near the north basin of Lake Winnipeg, Manitoba. Does anyone have an idea what this could be / could have been? While I have found numerous snail type fossils, this one was a first... I'm not even sure if this is a fossil at all. more views of the same

I have asked about this before but I had bad quality pictures, I found it in the Rosheim forest which has recently been known for its mammoth bones that were found. I decided to go there for a look and this one caught my attention and I first thought it was a fossil coral because the mountain was once submerged under water. Please help me find the identity of what it really is.

Recent Acquisitions, Lots Of Brachiopods- I Can't Id Any Of Them

I was wondering if anyone could ID these fossils. I bought them yesterday at a flea market. First one is not a fossil. I don't have any extra information on it at all. These brachiopods were suppodedly collected in PA. I'm not very knowledgable on brachiopods so I was wondering if anyone could confirm this. I was also told they were the insides or as he said it- 'guts'. I was told that this is a piece of plant. No info on location but it does have impressions of a gastropod and bivalve in the matrix. Can't say much about this one other than it looks like a trilobite. More brachiopods, from Deer Lake PA. This coral might be from Florida. All of these were bought from the same dealer who sells mostly locally-found (South Central PA) rocks and all accompanied notes are from him also. Sorry about the poor picture quality. Bad lighting and shaky hands don't mix very well at all. EDIT: Thanks to the moderator who deleted my accidental duplicate of this thread.

I am a new member and put this post in the introduction forum without looking at the other forums first, so am redoing here. Sorry for the confusion. I would like some help identifying the tubular fossils as shown. The sample came from my Father's collection and I have no idea what the age of the sample is or its provenance. The rock matrix is carbonate. I have been told that the features are bone, that they are coral, that they are not coral, and that they are wood. Any help someone could give me I would appreciate.

As a child I collected rocks. Recently I dug my old collection out of storage, which I haven't looked at since childhood. I found this specimen in the box. I must have found it somewhere in Ontario, Canada in the early 1990s. Any idea what it is?
