We don't get a lot of shark teeth in Corolla NC. So far we have a juvenile great white, sand tigers, lemon and bull. Can you help me identify the one I found this weekend? Is it a bull shark? Also, what causes the beautiful rust colored tip? Thanks, everyone!

While walking in the early morning in Corolla, NC 2 weeks ago I was distracted by a black bird that lead me to find this vertebra. I've never found anything like this at the beach so I thought I would ask for some help here. The only thing I've found that looks like it is here - scroll down to Xiphiacetus (Eurhinodelphis) bossi Dorsal Vertebra - Plate 7 - #5 https://www.fossilguy.com/gallery/vert/mammal/marine/eurhinodelphis/eurhinodelphis_miocene.htm Thanks in advance for any answers! Corolla NC beach. I danced and jumped for joy, no regrets. Shrimp? Age? Anything you can figure out? I am blown away, as we get crab pieces, coral and sea Robin skull plates .. but nothing like this in 30 years.

I found these sea robin plates and this bone on the beach today. I was wondering if any one could help with what the bone came from. It has dimple looking things on one end that makes it look like a horses snout. Thanks mike

I found this tooth on the beach in Corolla, NC. Looks like a mammal tooth and my first thought is that it is a tooth from one of the wild mustangs that have been here since the 1500's. I was hoping someone could confirm that it is a horse tooth and that it would be possible to fossilize in the 500 years since the horses have been here. If it is not a horse tooth than I would be very interested to know what type of tooth it is. Thanks.
