Hello, in 2021, my kids and I were hunting fossil fragments in the rock piles arranged as landscaping alongside a store. Rock landscaping location: Arlington, Texas, USA. Of course we have no idea where the piles of rock originally come from. While hunting, we came across this spherical piece, which looks like a compressed, fossilized, cracked egg to us. Since we've found pieces of Ammonites before, it didn't seem unreasonable to find something else. Can anyone identify if it is natural mineral or fossilized egg? Thank you.

Question for the Amber experts : Recently I was looking at some of my Amber (Burmite) with inclusions with my magnifying glass Quite a few of them have internal cracks. Is this likely to become a problem some time in the future ? Are the cracks likely to develop further ? And possibly ruin the piece ? Any way of preventing that ? Soaking in some sort of consolidant or oil ?

I'm going to attempt to clean up and glue the stromatolite I posted about the other day (yes, its a stromatolite). This will be my first rock gluing adventure. I've read several threads here, and watched a bunch of youtube vids. None of them really focuses on the actual process of consolidating unbroken rocks that are starting to come apart with a network of baby cracks. Please help? I have paraloid pellets andsuperglue (liquid form). I assume one goes along the crack with a dropper or brush and the glue magically gets down into the crack by gravity or capillary action?

I'm looking for suggestions and recommendations on how to repair this fossil I just found. It's got 4 crabs and an insect on the matrix, but it is cracking on top in several places, and it will fall apart easy if I'm not extremely careful. What is the best way to seal these cracks? Glue? What kind? Thanks in advance for help.

Way to Stabilize the cracks in this Chesapecten Shell?

Hello. I found this very cool Chesapecten Shell covered in Barnacles. Feels very strong. There are cracks in the underside of the shell and I was wondering if there is something clear and strong that I could apply to stabilize the fractures? Thank You! -
Hi all. I was hoping to find a pinned set of notes on when and how to use the various glues available for strengthening weak pieces, or repairing fractured ones; but there doesn't seem to be one. Can anyone point out a great thread, or chime in here on what you use and why you choose it in a given situation? Thanks.

I was wondering what everyone uses to prevent their fossils from splitting or cracking. I know some fossils have a mixture of some kind of glue that's diluted to seep into cracks of fossils. Does anyone know how to make it?

Greetings, I recently bought a beautiful Spinosaurus tooth that was previously restored as some parts were obviously broken and put together with some sort of brown putty which looks like dirt or rock fragments. The problem is that the tooth had an accident a few days ago (it fell from the stand) and it broke again. I put the parts together with super glue but the cracks are now wide and visible and I would like to hide them a little bit by using some putty or resin, I don't want the tooth to look perfect and unbroken, just to look like before it fell, like there is some dirt or rock fragments
