I located a potential spot (a creek tributary) that I never gave a chance literally a few feet away from a spot I’ve hunted before. I stopped by after a work meeting today and I was NOT disappointed (I know, I have fossil fever, no known cure). 9 conlinoceras tarrantense ammonites! One is about 6.6” across and in great shape. I assumed most in this area washed downstream from another location, but I found exposed formation with 1-2 smaller ammonites a few feet up the bank and 2 that were firmly fixed in matrix on the creek bottom, so I have an original source spot to add to my secret shopping list. I now have 13 of these in a week.. Dallas county TX (all of my prior finds were Tarrant county)

I haven't posted a trip report in a while and, although I didn't find anything amazing yesterday, I thought I would show what a decent day looks like for me. I would have loved to have hunted for a few more hours, but health problems limit what I can do. I don't find many I. retroflexus, so this was nice. It has a really pretty sheen. I like posterior angustidens, but I always find them missing a bit. All of the day's angustidens were broken. I don't find a ton of odontocete teeth, so I enjoy finding them (I think that's what the 3rd one is): And then just the usual miscellaneous (verts, ray parts, steinkerns, etc.): And, of course, other shark and barracuda teeth. Some are in good shape (1st pic), but there are always a ton that aren't (2nd pic): Other than that, there are some random unidentifiable bones and bits that aren't worth showing (including a possible root of an odontocete tooth with no crown at all). So, there is a decent day for me. No cow sharks, no mammoth or sloth teeth, but I got to enjoy nature and pick up a few fossils. Thanks for reading!

I would love to meet new people with same interest and compassion for finding a decent meg! Not interested in stealing someone’s hot spot. Interested in meeting someone with similar interest and learning more about fossils, teeth, and the history behind them.

@Cris and myself went out to the creek a few days in hopes of finding some fossils! It was HOT, there were bugs everywhere, and thunderstorms all around, but we still had a fun day. The fossil finds were not as plentiful as hoped for, but not every day can be insane! We still had an amazing time and ended up coming home with some cool fossils.
