We finally made it. Mrs.beachbum and myself finally made our first fossil hunting trip of the year. We just moved to central Florida and decided to stay close by for our first trip out. So we headed out to one of the smaller creeks in Gainesville for a few hours on Monday. It was slow going at first and after moving around for a while we hit a pretty good spot. Even though we had a couple of "oh nuts" with the megs, they are still the largest that we've found in Gainesville. The posterior meg is a pretty sharp looking dark blue, along with the cool colors of the other teeth. I believe that's a horse tooth in upper part of the picture that was found just before the megs started appearing. All in all it was a fun morning in the creek and we're looking to spend more time there. Also, can anyone tell me what's in the 2nd pic? Thanks.

Hi all Been wondering why when I ask for a possible ID a lot of people say it doesn't look like it is from Mazon creek ,I think I know why , Going to post 2 pitchers one in normal the other I coverd with just egg white you can see big difference, don't know what egg white dose besides brings out more detail and make calcite turn clear only down side is it lasts on certain Fossils for a couple of days then have to wash off and do again on some.

Ok all Who knows what to cover your Mazon creek fossils with to bring out that beautiful shine and detail? My grandfather told me this 40 years ago. It doesn't hurt Fossil and will act like glue to hold intact and will wash right off?
