Limestone steinkern. Practically complete. The original Type of this species has been lost and its placement within the taxonomy of the Glochiceratidae is still not certain. Some still refer to Creniceras as the genus and order it under the Oppeliidae, although many believe that even Creniceras renggeri should be ranked under Glochiceras. Yet another unsolved taxonomic riddle. Literature: Gygi 1991, The vertical range of the ammonoid genera Glochiceras, Creniceras and Bukowskites in the late Jurassic of northern Switzerland and in adjacent southern Germany. From the album: Late Jurassic Ammonites from Southern Germany
22mm. Calcite mold. Also found at Ueken. Found in the lower Oxfordian Schellenbrücke-Bank of the Ifenthal Formation. It was not possible to determine the exact zone, since it was found in a scree pile, but it may have originated from the cordatum zone.-
