Found in the Mount Laurel formation at the C&D canal in Delaware. Any idea on the genus?

Could really use help identifying this piece! Found in two medicine formation in southern alberta. Size is 2 inches x 2 inches and 1.5 inches high. It’s quite solid and is coolish to the touch, not at all chalky. thanks for any feedback at all.

Im not sure this is in the right place, but here goes. First I want to wish everyone a very merry Xmas, a happy holidays or what ever suits your fancy. I had ordered a very large ammonite from madagascar quite awhile ago, but being that we lost a family member I didnt have it in me to post anything. Life throws some purty big curve balls and I will never get past this one but still trying to make a good christmas. The big ammo on the bottom left is a 65 lbs Monster! Got a few others there too but have had those for quite awhile. The big Placenticeras is one my youngest son gave me. A few more of these big rocks and I wont be able to get to the wood stove?! Everybody be good and stay out of trouble. RB

My wife and I went to our other property to look for some stuff for the church garage sale. Gots lots of stuff but also ran into this box with my last dino eggs. I bought these in 1995 or 96? Been a very long time since ive seen these. My memory was that these were perfect? Now I can see that is not so! These eggs have problems for sure but im purty sure they are real, just a bit fixed up? Any ideas are appreciated. thanks RB

I cant tell you how long this has been sittin in a box collecting dust? I tossed it aside many years ago when I realized after many hours of prep that it was only half a lobster!!! Today my youngest son and I were going through some old boxes of stuff and ran into this today. He was saying how cool it was, and I have to say I agreed with him,,,,, so to the saw it went! Never in my life have I ever cut a lobster concretion in half! I was also nervous about it and wondered if by chance we would somehow run into the other half,,,,,, but no, there really was no other parts of the lobster in the half we cut off. This lobster in some bazar way is half a lobster lengthwize!!! Imagine cutting one from the tail end up the tail the body, the head and leaving only one claw! How in tarnation does that happen???!!! Anyways, here is a picture of it. Hart to see but look closely. Tail end on the left and big claw on the right. This is now back on the preppin block. Just need time. RB

A long time ago I used to go to Tucson every year for about 10 years. On one of those trips I bought a fish concretion that was from Brazil. I took it home, did most of the prep on it and then for some reason I put it aside and then years later we moved here to Montana. Well, I found it again the other day and today found out just how hard this rock is while doing about 4 hours of prep. Still got another prep session to finish this beauty up, but its almost done. Only took 20 years. Ha!!! This fish is Vinctifer comptoni from Brazil and Cretaceous in age. RB

I was eating dinner and my son came in and asked me I he could leave that big ammonite here in my garage. "sure son". Then this morning I walked into the garage and there it was sittin on my extra chair. I had forgotten just how big this thing was!! He took off all the rock on both sides too. That had to be quite the job and making it about 150 lbs lighter? Its missing a big part of the fragmacone but he tells me that he will composite another piece onto it someday. This kid is gunna have one H-E-Double Toothpicks of a collection!!! This thing is 26 inches across!!! RB

I ran into this ammo again just a month ago or two? Found this many years ago and put it away cause it was in bad shape! This thing was in about 4 or 5 pieces and the intire fragmacone along with the appature opening was covered in rock. i did a bit of prep here and there over the last month or so and then began to realize that this just may turn out purty good? It is a bit crushed on the fragmacone but the more work I did on it the better it became!!! Now its a keeper!! Im not sure but I think this its spedini? Fox Hills Formation. Oh, it measures 4.5 inches at its widest points. RB

Cant remember when I found this little beauty, but very little prep on this one. Im not sure but I think its a male Scaphites crassus? i left it in the rock, I like em that way. Nice and complete. RB

While I was at Quartzite I did buy a few things. I found this at a building that sold mostly Morrocan stuff and was told that this came from there, but I don't believe a thing im told by them. I have done some work on this specimen to make it as best I can, but I have no clue as to what Genus, what species, what formation or anything else for that matter? Any help would be great. Thanks RB

This thing sat in a box for quite awhile. It was a concretion that was 'popped' open but broke very badly! There were two incomplete halfs of this concretion with some ammo material on both halves and lots of left over pieces too. About two months ago I took a chisel and did my best to 'pop' off the ammo parts still on the rocks. I then layed out all the pieces in such a way and realized I had a complete ammo. So,,,,, took many many days but kept gluing pieces back together. I really did think about tossing this into the rock pile a time or two. Once I finally had it all put back together I had to start the 2 part putty attack. Then lots of sanding, then a coat of wax. I finished up only one side of this specimen yesterday and called it quits. I just couldn't see putting any more time into this darn thing. Then last night, about 3 am, I started thinking about how all the hard stuff is done, so why not finish up the other side? Plus, I think it may be the better side. And I would end up with a 'Two Sider'. RB
