Hello, this is a very nice rooted Crocodile tooth I found a few days ago. Is this a Borealasuchus or Deinosuchus tooth. Or, something other than those. Thanks for any help!

Hello everyone. Just trying to see if I can get some idea of what this may be. Top of the fossil seems to be a tooth but the lower part looks more like bone material than tooth. I know it’s well worn, and I don’t expect any kind of classification. Just trying to figure out if it’s actually a tooth or something different.

I bought this tooth together with two other teeth as ''Smilodon teeth'' last year. Thanks to this forum, I found out that the other two teeth are actually Enchodus teeth! I think this one might be something else. Someone on Reddit told me that it could be a crocodile tooth, but I have little to no knowledge about crocodile teeth. I understand if it's difficult to identify, because the tooth isn't complete. It's 2cm and the seller couldn't give me information about where this was found. Any help is appreciated, thanks!

I was out at Matoaka Beach (Calvert Cliffs, Choptank Formation) a couple days ago and found a small but great quality megalodon tooth, a great-looking crocodile tooth, and then what looks to me to be a small aquatic mammal tooth. I have a couple questions about them. 1. Can anyone tell if the megalodon tooth is from a juvenile animal or just one of the posterior teeth of an adult animal? 2. What is the typical genus/species of crocodiles in this formation that you typically find teeth for? 3. Any ideas on the smaller find? I think it could be a tooth belonging to an aquatic mammal, but pretty weathered down without much enamel. Any other thoughts?

I posted this one alongside a few other teeth, but it didn't get as much traction as I hoped. It's the one I was most curious about, and extremely unusual to me, so I figured posting it individually would be helpful. This is a Moroccan crocodile tooth from Kem Kem. It is serrated, and dagger-shaped, 1.02" long and 0.32" wide. Out of those I have consulted, Troodon proposed Hamadasuchus, though yielded that the dagger-shape is not consistent with those he had seen with those: I've essentially used all of my leads over these few days. If anyone has a different theory, I would appreciate anything to go on. Thank you, Bellamy

Fresh out of the Aguja, found this crocodilian tooth. I know Deinosuchus is present in the formation; I thought it could be based on the strong striations and stoutness? Or can it only be called Eusuchia? It's about 5 mm in length: Thanks!

Recently you could find "many" bones and teeth in a "Bonebed" in a quarry near Buttenheim in Germany. Too bad I was a bit too late to search in this Bonebed. As I was there it was still possible to find something but the layer was buried under about 1 meter dirt. So I couldn't really find something there. All bones and teeth come from the Toarcian. This thread of @Kasia inspired me to buy some teeth and bones from there too. So thank you for the inspiration Here are my acquirements: I bought three Steneosaurus (crocodile) teeth: The first one is about 1. 3 cm long: Detailed: The next one is a big one with a length of 2 cm. This one was found in Altdorf: The last one is damaged and small (0.8 cm long) Beside of these Croc teeth I also bought some Ichthyosaur material from there: A 1.1 cm long tooth which could be quite nice if someone didn't glued it that bad... I am not sure what I will do with this one because there seems to be another tooth in the matrix and I will maybe try to break it and glue it a bit better. Too bad the teeth are extremely fragile so I am not sure what I will do... And another small Ichthyosaur tooth with a length of 0.6 cm: And last but not least three small Ichthyosaur vertebrae: All three are a bit bigger than 2 cm. All in all I have to say that I am quite satisfied with my purchase expecially because I didn't had to pay too much money for them. Thanks for viewing

So this is at Texas Tarrant County near a large pond. Not sure if the tooth is crocodile, fish, marine dinosaur or small mammel. The rock with circles on it I'm guessing is an imprint of a shell. And the other one I think is bone in Rock not sure if it's like a tooth if so I guess bovine or triceratops but I'm not sure if it's a recent bone or a bone from the dinosaur era (or if it's a bone at all). Also a general question of how do you know if something is a modern bone or dinosaur bone, I found some level surface and you can see the face of the bone, the rest is in the ground and it's near a pond. If anyone has answers to these questions that will be great. Excuse my lack of knowledge in these areas I'm new and I've just started with no current knowledge in dinosaurs.

After my visit last week (http://www.thefossilforum.com/index.php?/topic/86063-my-little-trip-to-solnhofen/) This time I was at the visitor quarry in Solnhofen. It was very hard work and it was too hot but the finds arent too bad Its a pity that I couldnt find a fish but nevertheless I found some interesting things! Two pictures of the quarry: A beautiful 4 cm long Laevaptychus: A cuttlefish remain: with nice details (6 cm long): And my finds of the day: Two teeth Teeth arent that common in Solnhofen I assume, so I must had some serious luck The first one is 1.5 cm long and it seems to be a crocodile tooth. I think its a Steneosaurus tooth: I like the root The second isnt that big with a length of 0.7 cm. I cant determine this one... Maybe also a crocodile tooth? Maybe someone can help me a bit with determining? Thanks for your help! Hope you enjoyed the pictures!

Man do I love this river! We were the first ones to the beach today and it was a good thing too, three hours later it was filled with folks showing up for the various Easter events at Stratford Hall. On of the first things I spied was the biggest shark vert that I had ever found, and I was feeling pretty stoked about that until my wife let a yell and held up one bigger. My wife did the racetrack pattern along the water line while I settled in for sifting, she ended up doing better than I did, though I did end up getting some cool finds as well. Total haul. Shark verts. Couple of fish verts and an epiphysis. Croc tooth, dolphin teeth, and a crab claw.

Finishing up trying to ID some finds from the Fall at Purse State Park in Charles County, Maryland. These presumably are from the Paleocene Aquia Formation. This is my only collecting trip there so far. I think that #1 is a crocodile tooth, #2 is a turtle scute, #3 is a claw or tooth, and #4 and 5 are fish teeth. Please school me Fossil Forum. More of #4 and 5 More of #3
