I'm a bit new to this, so this might be a stupid question but here we go. I found this on marine Eocene deposits in Catalonia, Spain. Could this part of a crab? Or maybe an echinoderm?

Unknown fossils in conglomerate from the Maastrichtian of Romontbos
pachy-pleuro-whatnot-odon posted a topic in Fossil ID
Hi all, Here's a conglomerate fossil I found on the depots of Romontbos on September 24th. It dates to the Maastrichtian stage of the Cretaceous and probably derives from the Romontbos Horizon of the Chalk of Eben Email. On the bottom left is a piece of crustacean leg, with a piece of echinoid test lying inside out on top of the large orange fossil, a spine lying on top of that. The large orange fossil itself, however, is a bit of a mystery as it seems to have a cylindrical shape - that is, both round and deep - with wavy colour pattern, is incomplete on the left side, and is hollow based on a single projection on the front of the piece. Is this just a large fragment of shell, of something else? And then there's this greyish roof-like fossil on the top right. Originally, I thought this was a fish scale, since it's got a bony texture exposed on one side and is rather thin. However, I then got told yesterday that it's too big for a fish scale - which, in these deposits, are thinner and of a reddish-brown colour to boot. I'm now wondering whether it could be the dermal denticle of a ray? Any interpretation of any of these fossils is welcome! @Manticocerasman @Mart1980 @ziggycardon @Jasperfossils- 20 replies

Hi, found this beauty on the coast of Newcastle NSW Australia. I believe it's likely a fish tooth plate, or maybe a crab? Any help would be appreciated, thank you!

Hi All, Thought I'd share some of my finds from a couple hour trip to Big Brook Preserve in Monmouth County, NJ (Monmouth group). Started off the trip stumbling upon a living fossil, who I let do his thing and swim on by! Found some pretty amazing non-living fossils as well. A mix of shark (Crow and Gobblin), Enchodus, Belemnites, few crustacean bits (likely Ghost Shrimp) and a few types of mollusks (Exogyra, Pycnodonte). Thanks for looking, and feedback good/bad is always welcome. Scale - Coin is 2cm/21mm or 7/8".

I find a lot of these guys, they look almost like little barrels. They leave an imprint on their flat side that looks similar to an ammonite. I have no idea what they are, I was thinking some sort of isopod but I can't seem to find info about them anywhere. They vary widely in size. I can take better pictures if anyone needs them

Lyme Regis crustacean fossil- Which stratum would this originate from?
Paleoworld-101 posted a topic in Questions & Answers
This fossil crustacean was collected in England on the foreshore between Lyme Regis and Charmouth, amongst the algae-covered large boulders that are exposed at low tide. It looks to be in some kind of phosphatic nodule. The cream-colour of the matrix is quite unlike the dark Jurassic rocks that make this region famous. I was thinking it is unlikely to be from the Jurassic layers, and probably originates from the overlying Cretaceous sequences higher up in the cliffs? Both Gault Clay and Upper Greensand (Albian in age) unconformably sit above the Jurassic beds. Does anyone know which of these deposits are known to produce crustacean specimens with this type of preservation and lithology in the Lyme Regis area? Thanks for any input! -
Hi all! Talk about pure luck, on my second trip to pit 11 ever, I found this crawfish(?)! It was in 3 pieces and I was lucky enough to find all 3. Needless to say I super excited…I’d have to guess it’s pretty a rare find. It cleaned up really well after a few 25% vinegar baths and the slightest brushing with a very soft artist paint brush. When it split at some point, part of the top didn’t separate with it, it was covering the tail which I reallllllly wanted to see . I noticed a small crevice on the side of the concretion and figured I might be able to get the imperfect separation to pop off. After a few partial freeze/thaws, that part popped off so I have full exposure of the body! I’d love an ID on this if anyone can help. Thanks in advance! Patrick

The Photos attached are of the second of 5 fossils I have been unable to identify in the last 2 years. This fossil has been found on the shores of Lake Huron, in the Grey Bruce county area in Ontario, Canada. I’d like to know what species you think this shell fossil belongs to. I know little about fossils but find them fascinating. Thanks for your help in advance.
