This is not a joke, I'm not trying to get attention, I want people to know the truth so that they can form their OWN conclusions based on scientific fact. What I'm presenting has not been tampered with as to fool you. I have kept it minimal. If you are really interested then you must see it in person. I'm near Reserve, NM. FACT: A HEART CAN BE CRYSTALLIZED. FIRST IMAGES - Illustration of heart filled (taken from youtube video "heart anatomy"), then heart emptying, then heart empty). Notice the shape of the heart when emptied. I bet a lot of you didn't know that. I didn't either. The crystal is heavy for it's size. It is about 8.5 inches from top to bottom. 5.5 inches wide. 4.5 inches depth. I just washed it with water and then coated it in mineral oil. Anatomically correct crystal (amethyst) heart. What is amethyst made of? Fe3... Where is Fe3 found? In blood? Yep. The bottom of the heart is a it should be... the base is where it broke from the diaphragmatic surface and you can see the attachments. I'm could go on and on but I'm just gonna post this and see what happens. Unfortunately the wildfire nearby is obstructing my main interest in obtaining photographs of... something big. Any of these any good? What am I digging? It has a shell? And little egg lookin things on it. Some of the dinosaur look in things have turned to Crystal too

Hi to Forum members; I am an amateur rock collector who likes to look for fossils. For the most part I have not found anything fantastic but I am hopeful. I kindly request any information and or comments about a recent flint specimen from my back garden in Ipswich, Tuddenham Road. I have other photos of the flint that show unusual structures. On those photos, I used my photo app to adjust the exposure to get more fine detail. If it will help, I would gladly share. Also from my back garden, I found a petrified seed/pod/nut shell. Can someone help me identify what it is. May thanks! Munchy2

Ok so is this a bug, leaf, pine cone or just random crystal formation. But if not random how does it turn to crystal.

This is said to be a crystallized wood fossil from Liaoning, China. Do you think it is a wood fossil or simply a crystal ?

I think this is a geode, but it's pretty big. Can anyone tell me if it is, or whst it is? Please. I received it from a friend, I believe they found it in Montana, but I can't say for sure.

A friend of mine found this recently in the area of Belton, Texas in the undivided early Cretaceous. He sent me the pic and asked if I knew what kind of crystal it was. I didn’t know so I asked him if I could post it here for him. I’m not so curious about the fossil clam as the type of crystal it is. If you need more pics it may take a while, because I think he is out of town for a while. @ynot It does not look like calcite really, but I suppose it could be. It just looks harder than that. I forgot to ask him to do a hardness scratch test. Let me know if you have any ideas. Kim

I found this rock about 20 years ago while hiking a piece of property I was considering buying, which was perched on a high bluff over looking the Illinois River. I picked it up because of the beautiful druzy crystals on it. I have been cleaning quartz crystals this week, which I found a few weeks ago near Hot Springs, AR. I was using Iron out to remove the iron stains. Anyway, I have kept this rock in my kitchen window so it could catch the sunlight and sparkle for me all these years. It is not the finest home decor, but definitely my style. I picked it up today to see if it had any iron stains on it that might need to be removed. As I was looking at it something in the chert caught my eye! I’ve had this rock all these years, but never realized, to my great delight (squeal!!!), there were fossils in it until today. That just makes it all the more special and cool. The formation there is Keokuk and Reed, which is Mississippian. I think these may be Bryozoa, but I’m not certain. I’m not sure I’ve ever hunted a Mississippian formation and found much besides crinoid pieces. Note the little rice grain size/shape dark spots on the top right side. I saw them and began to wonder if they were fossils. I turned the rock around to look at all sides and saw these rice grain size and shapes that were clustered together. See top center just below the crystal. These look flat, but in the next pic they have more dimension. Rice grain size and shape center of pic. The bottom of the rock. Note bottom center it almost looks like a plant leaf of sorts, but I assume Bryozoa. I have not found many fossils in the area. I found a couple crinoid fragments on the nearby land that I ended up buying instead. So, I’m pretty sure these are marine fossils. A few miles away to the east in Arkansas, in the Boone Formation, I found 3 Spirifers and abundant crinoid stalk fragments. Can anyone confirm that these are Bryozoa and if so what type they may be? Great forum you have here. I am a new member and my son and I were out rock collecting this week (his last week of vacation before school). We found a large piece of sedimentary rock (I think). Inside the nooks and crannies were these crystal formations. We were very excited, especially when we viewed them under our stereoscopic microscope. This piece is about 4 inches long. We haven’t been able to identify them but I thought I’d share. My guess is calcite. What do you think?

Hi! Usually I'm pretty good at identifying crystals or minerals but this one I cant quite figure out. So a friend of mine is convinced its green calcite, another says green tourmaline however, I feel it's low grade epidote. Either way I'm at a loss. Who's right? Lol Ive taken normal photos and macro of some of the crystals. The crystal is also wet from a quick rinse. any help is greatly appreciated
