Various denticles from sharks and rays sitting on the face of a dime. -
Taken with my new microscope camera. The first three pictures will be of crocodile teeth from the Hell Creek formation of Montana and are from the Cretaceous period. All are taken at 20x to show a lot of detail. First photo: Borealosuchus Sternbergi is 4.5 mm long. Second photo: Champosaurus sp. is 3 mm long. Third photo: Brachychampsa montana

Good evening again!. Amazing what you can find jut scanning shale after shale! I find multiple clusters of conodont segments and denticles but tonight's find is potentially very exciting!. Surrounding the elements is a finely granular, uniform, brown matrix which is not shale (arrow) and not sediment (at least my thought . I see this on occasion in shale but this is the first time I've found it uniformly surrounding conodonts. to me it appears organic. Thoughts? thanks so much again!!! Bone

I took a break from Lee Creek and Bone Valley matrix and worked on some Waurika matrix. This matrix was so much fun to go through. Every was a first for my collection! I believe that I identified everything correctly but if you see anything that is wrong please let me know. I will be adding more to this post in the near future.... @sharkdoctor Thought you would enjoy the pictures! I found quite a few denticles and other bits of these cool early sharks. The distinct denticles associated with Omalodus are present as are denticles that are associated with Phoebodus and Antarticlamna like sharks. -

Hi I have a question, I went back since I had some time and re measured my Tyrannosaur tooth denticles. But there both the same size, the Mesial and Distal are both 6. And the DSDI is 1, what would this mean? Thank you!! @Omnomosaurus, @Troodon

Hi all, I am new to the forum and new to collecting =) I recently obtained this nice tooth labeled as Dromaeosaur sp. premax. tooth - I would like to get a more refined ID if possible. It was found in the Hell Creek Fm., Powder River Co., Montana and measures 15/16". Denticle count per 5mm is distal 18, mesial 24 (not many denticles visible mesial though). I found a thread here stating it is possible to distinguish Nanotyrannus from Dakotaraptor teeth by the shape of the denticles - however I find this very hard as rookie. Any help is appreciated!

Not to long ago, forum member Caldigger sent me a box of Shark Tooth Hill bonebed material. I finally finished going through it and photographing them today. I only took pictures of the best ones, and I have a lot of other partials. I managed to take these pictures with an extremely simple setup: I cut a hole in the bottom of a clear plastic cup, stuck the bottom of my microscope's lens through it, and voila Feel free to correct me in any wrong identifications. Here are some more of my Lee Creek Micro Teeth from the last week or so. Hope you enjoy and feel free to correct my ID if you do not agree. A few denticles Ray Teeth Nice little Tope, Galeorhinus sp. Galeocerdo aduncus? Cat Shark, probably Scyliorhinus Odontaspis sp? and a Very Nice little Carcharias cuspidata
