    Mid Devonian…well it’s a shape

I just honestly don’t know. 3D shape in matrix, hopefully the pictures illustrate its dimensions/general shape because I’d have a hard time describing it. Definitely seems to have symmetry though. Some layers have a mottled texture to it. Roughly 6.5 x 2.5 x 2 cm. Mid Devonian, Needmore formation of West Virginia. As always thank you for your time!

    Devonian Brachiopod ID

I have a find from my hunt last Tuesday that has me stumped. As I took a break from pounding rock I took a walk around the site to surface scan the surroundings. I saw a slab with a high concentration of spiriferids. I decided ti try to break the grouping off the slab. This resulted in a Mystery (for me) brachiopods coming out with one of the spiriferids attached as well as some imprints. The item does not photograph well but hopefully someone can make out what it is. It measures 3 inches across. Found in Middle Devonian Hamilton Group Moscow Formation. @Fossildude19 @Jeffrey P

    Bellacartwrightia

    From the album: Mahatango Formation

The only specimen I've ever collected of this elusive trilobite, found in the Montebello member and associated with many Eldredgeops. The specimen would be 2.5 inches if prone.

The best example I've collected of this species, about a inch and half long.

  11. Can anyone help me with if this looks like an authentic collection of head shields from boreaspid and cephalaspid ostracoderms? Seller states the species are Spatulaspis, Boreaspis and Cephalaspis. Not sure about the identification of Spatulaspis based on morphology but I've also personally not seen ostracoderms with such detail and wonder if their quality is too similar to the matrix. The stated locality is from Wood Bay in Spitzburgen which fits with Boreaspis and Spatulaspis. I would love to add a beautiful assemblage of stem gnathostomes to my collection but am not positive about the authenticity. Would appreciate any thoughts!

    Devonian fossil?

Hey guys, I went on a little hike with my girlfriend in couvin, belgium. Of course we had to pass by the fossil site over there (with devonian fossils, if I am correct). I found something on the ground there that i havent seen before. So i was wondering what it could be? The piece is pretty big its about 7 by 3 cm and the little piece next to it was also probably attached. Its sitting on top of an acervularia ananas sp. I got from the exact same location a few years ago.
