Hello. I am new to this forum . I have recently inherited a large fossil collection. My father collected them from around the world mostly in the 70's and 80's. Unfortunately ' I can not provide any information regarding origin. Recently I had a heart attack and am cataloging everything for my wife. I was thrilled to find this forum. Any help to Identify this suspected fossil would be appreciated. My online efforts have been a failure so an educated opinion would be great. Thank you, Sunmadmurf

Hello ! I bought this at a Flea Market in California years ago for a dollar. It was in a box of rocks and Geodes. I recently got a rock ID App & this one keeps returning as Opal. It’s got a good weight to it so I figured it’s a Geode. But I once saw a fossilized egg that had the same odd Conical edge to it & now I’m wondering if it’s an egg of some sort. The exterior has an interesting texture to it. The inside of the exterior has golden bits that look like Amber almost. Is there such a thing as Fossilized Egg Whites? Thanks for any info . This has been in my garden at my home for over 23 years. It is extremely heavy 17 lbs 10 inches long and approx. 13 inches around at the largest point. Oval shaped with a strange shell like coating. Thank you in advance for any ideas. IMG_1026.mov IMG_1026.mov

Is this a real fossilized dinosaur egg?

I just bought this dinosaur egg fossil and would like opinions on its authenticity. It is spheroid, 3 inches in diameter, porous and pitted texture. Cracks present as one would expect in a fractured shell. Thanks for any insights.

I bought this from a woman whose husband collected. She had no nformation on it other than it was collected in the Mississippi region. It looks similar to some of the online photographs I have seen of dinosaur eggs. The outermost layer has a thin portion missing, like an egg shell. What do you think?

Hi guys not been on much due to limited internet sorry however I had ordered a 'geode' from a seller in China cheapish it is around 1.9kg in weight and it arrived. It looked like something I had seen before and sure enough I found similar listed as a dinosaur egg on the famous auction site, just wondered everyone's thoughts on what it actually is lol? couple of pics attached, im sure it is neither an egg or a geode personally

Hi, I am a newbie. I found this object on the side of a rural gravel road adjacent to corn fields near Charlevoix Michigan that appears to me as a possible fossilized dinosaur egg. The surface is covered in pores and cracks yet is very solid. Dimensions are length 11.5cm (4.5"), width 6.4cm (2.5"), height 8.3cm (3.25"). Weight is 2.2 pounds. The light colored scuff marks are undoubtedly from a road grader. If this is not a fossilized egg what could it be?

Hi everyone. I would like your opinion of if this is a dinosaur egg or something else, like a Concretion. I found it several years ago about an hour south of Williston North Dakota. I know the area is known for having cannon ball Concretions but it is also known for an area rich with fossils and petrified wood. I have spent countless hours researching and looking through photos of both Dino eggs and Concretions etc. but have never found anything that looks exactly like this. The closest looking thing I have found to it was actually Dino eggs in the natural history museum in New York. I found it near a clay deposit, there were three groups of the egg like formations. Total number of all of them were about 18-34 (it’s been a long time soon don’t recall exactly how many but I only took one). Most of them were cracked all around (like a mosaic) and this one was in the best shape. Also it had what I believe to be clay surrounding the outside which we chipped off to reveal this (we didn’t know what we were doing, and the thought it might be an actual Dino egg at first was unbelievable). Also it’s very heavy. I’ve gone back and forth over the years if it is a Dino egg or not and would love y’all’s opinion. Am happy to take more photos upon request. I am new to the community, happy to be apart of it and looking forward to any response. Thanks again Shane

Is this a egg or anything good? It has a shell. And little egg lookin Baby things things inside it. It was kinda round and I busted it open to check it out. It split in half and it just sandwiches back together one side has crater like round places were the other side has raised rounded places and it just fits rite back together. I got all the other little pieces that come off the edges too... Is it a Egg possibly? Looks kinds like a baby

I'm>I found this in western South Dakota and I believe it is a fossilized dinosaur egg. It appears there is a mostly developed embryo which has a face that can be seen. It is about the size of a bowling bowl and just as heavy. Can anyone help me identify what this is. I have more pictures avaiable. Thank you. Kirt O9

I believe this to be a fossilized egg of some kind. I found it in a deep hole of a local Creek that has a rock bottom while searching for Indian artifacts. I originally thought it was a game ball of sorts due to it being polished. Although I couldn't account for exterior material. I tossed it in one of my rock boxes and forgot about it until I saw it again today. I scratched at the material that partially covers the exterior and a piece flaked off leading me to think that it is not a game ball.

Found in a dry creek bed in Central Texas at the base of a recently badly eroded sandstone and clay cliff while hiking with the boys. Any thoughts?
