I need help identifying these sauropod teeth from Yixian Formation
-Andy- posted a topic in Fossil ID
Hi all, I have several sauropod teeth from the Yixian Formation of Liaoning that I need help identifying. This is Tooth 1 - White Length: 44 mm Formation: Jianshangou Beds of Yixian Formation Locality: Chaomidianzi, Sihetun, Beipiao, Liaoning Province I believe this is a Dongbeititan dongi tooth as this tooth has the morphology of titanosauriform teeth, and Dongbeititan is the only titanosauriform from that locality as far as I know. The formation is based off the locality of Chaomidianzi (my source was confident of that locality) --- This is Tooth 2 - Red Formation: Lujiatun Bed of Yixian Formation Locality: Yanzigou, Shangyuan, Beipiao, Liaoning I believe this is a cf. Euhelops sp. tooth as this tooth has the morphology of titanosauriform teeth, and cf. Euhelops sp. is the only titanosauriform from that locality as far as I know. The formation is based off the locality of Yanzigou and the red matrix. I've compared this matrix to multiple Yanzigou locality fossils of the Lujiatun Beds and they are identical My ID is based off this paper "Basal titanosauriform (Dinosauria, Sauropoda) teeth from the Lower Cretaceous Yixian Formation of Liaoning Province, China" --- This is Tooth 3 - Partial Formation: Lujiatun Bed of Yixian Formation Locality: Yanzigou, Shangyuan, Beipiao, Liaoning I believe this is a cf. Euhelops sp. tooth as this tooth has the morphology of titanosauriform teeth, and cf. Euhelops sp. is the only titanosauriform from that locality as far as I know. The formation and locality is based off the red matrix in the cross section. This tooth was resold from my source but he confirms it's definitely within Beipiao and either from Yanzigou or Sihetun. I've compared this matrix to multiple Yanzigou locality fossils of the Lujiatun Beds and they are identical --- This is Tooth 4 - Tiny Formation: Yixian Formation Locality: Sihetun, Beipiao, Liaoning This is the toughest tooth of all due to its size and incompleteness. It's the top half of a spoon-shaped crown. Again, the source admits being a reseller but he promises the locality is accurate. I believe this is a Titanosauriform indet. I showed this tooth to @hxmendoza and he agrees it's a tooth, not a claw. The closest match I can find to this tooth is MSNM V6214 from "Sauropod teeth from the Middle Jurassic of Madagascar, and the oldest record of Titanosauriformes" May I have your thoughts on these IDs please? Thank you.-

Hi all, would like to ask your opinions on these claws i purchased labelled as Pachycephalosaurus Foot claw (Juvenile) from Powder River Montana. Ive just seen some threads where some mistake Thesc claws with Pachy claws due to their similarities I guess. Just wanted to make sure or confirm the species of these little guys. Cheers!

Spino tooth natural or restored/ repaired
carch_23 posted a topic in Is It Real? How to Recognize Fossil Fabrications
Hi TFF, Would like for your advice on this spino tooth I saw online. Ive been looking at some of your old threads on how spino teeth have famously been repaired or restored. Ive been, in a way, sort of been able to detect whether they have been fixed up. this one however is labelled 100% natural and messaged the seller, he also confirmed nothing has been done on the tooth and its condition is how it was found straight from the ground. Size is 4 inches so quite nice and wanted to double check as most of his listings of this size have been also labelled repaired or restored. price imo was also pretty good for its size and condition, though seller does seem reputable and many positive reviews, zero negatives. But I guess it doesnt hurt to ask for more opinions from you guys. Thanks in advance! -
Spinosaurus tooth: real or fake?
Dankenki posted a topic in Is It Real? How to Recognize Fossil Fabrications
Hello to everyone, I bought this small spinosaurus tooth some days ago and I'm now wondering if it's real or not. The seller told me that it's non reconstructed but after seeing some stuff on this forum I'm not too sure to trust him. It comes from Kem Kem. Thanks to everyone! -

Kurufossils posted a topic in Is It Real? How to Recognize Fossil Fabrications
Hi everyone, I was recently offered this Giganotosaurus tooth. I was wondering if there was a way to distinguish it from carcharodontosaurus teeth from the kem kem beds? Or if anyone can share there opinion on this one, thank you.- 11 replies

Hello everyone ! Here is 0.65" tooth from carter country ,Hell creek formation , Montana . I personally think that it belong to Theropod maybe ? (I saw very faint serration in this tooth) A good friend of mine told me that due to weird shape of this tooth it could be a Pre-maxillary tooth of maybe Nanotyrannus with feeding damage at the tip. What do you guy think about this tooth ?? as always thank in advance . Guns

Chenanisaurus Barbaricus Tooth? Or Carch?
Kurufossils posted a topic in Is It Real? How to Recognize Fossil Fabrications
Came across this tooth labeled as an abelisaurus belonging to chinanisaurus barbaricus from the Maastrichtian supposedly found in the phosphate mines of the Ouled Abdoun basin. Looks pretty thick to be abelisaurus and comparable to an extent to some carcharodontosaurus teeth. Is there a way tell the difference or will there need to be more specifics involved.- 12 replies

Not mine - belongs to a university. I want to say it is about 3 inches in length. I cannot remember exactly where it was found, but I do know it was an isolated tooth found in Texas. Quite a rare and awesome tooth to see in person.- 6 comments

Hi all, Unfortunately I have no location info on this tooth which i know is really important but the seller can't obtain this information as it was from an old collection of someone that passed away. Does the morphology match Ankylosaurus or nodosaur rather than Pachy and Thescelosaurus? Thanks Jai
