Found some pyrite ammonites on Charmouth Beach. They are soaking right now in acetone. Need to get something like Paraloid-B72 or Paraloid B-67 which is unavailable here in US. All I know is that the equivalent needs to be hydrophobic. Any suggestions?

Hi all! We found this fossil a few days ago on a trip to Charmouth, UK. I’m brand new to fossil prep and I thought I give this a go. However this one confuses me a little because I’m not sure what is the best approach. Should I try to clean it up on the agatized side or the other side? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! An hour walk along Highcliffe beach in Christchurch and plenty of shark teeth on the shoreline. I assume the larger one, albeit a little worn, is just from a larger shark? Thank you

I found this fossil on the beach around Poole Harbour in Dorset. The length from "head" to "tail" is 5cm, I know that soft bodied creatures like leeches don't generally fossilise, but the way that the segments vary from large to small make it look like some sort of worm. Any ideas?

Hi there, This is my first forum post, I'm UK based in the South West. About 6 months to a year ago I visited Charmouth in Dorset and ended up coming home with this particular rock. I've always wondered if the structures breaking the surface were fossils or instead natural geological features. Any ideas? Thanks

Hi! I'm new here and new to the fossil world. My husband and myself love going to the beach and looking for interesting finds. 2 years ago we found this odd glittery nugget on a beach Dorset, UK and I simply took it as I found it special. Placed it in our collection box and forgot about it. It seems that it cracked in the meantime as it fully dried out and it became easier to crack open. It is quite heavy for its size.. I have no idea what it is and it made me very curious, as I recently read about coprolites. Could this one be a coprolite? I will try and attach a photo where you could see the original shape. Thank you!! This community is amazing!
