I was just wanting to show off my biggest hemi in 2 years of amateur fossil hunting. Its a 1.7 inch hemi from a dredge system in georgia, its been cleaned up alot since the root was fully covered in matrix still slightly unstable however. Im pretty happy with the condition and colors I was wondering whats the biggest hemi ever found or biggest personal hemi anyone else has found.

I found this tooth a while back on a dredge system in georgia. I was wondering on its ID since im not too familiar with the area.

Anyone have a clue? Found in Savannah River dredge tailings near Savannah, Ga. I have had many look at this piece & so far no one has been able to identify - approx size 2” x 1” in.

Today we went to of our favorite fossil hunting spots to look for shark teeth, we got two nice colored makos and many small shark teeth before thunder chased us away. Among our finds were two strange fossils. First is this small triangular piece I believe to be a skull cap, I realize I forgot measurement, it is about a centimeter long. along with this is either the back of a skull or the strangest vert I have ever seen (about an inch). here are our additional finds.

These are some unidentified mollusk fossils I collected among the dredge spoils along the Savannah River in Savannah, Georgia a couple years back. Because of the mixed nature of the dredge sediments exact aging isn't possible but they represent Miocene, Pliocene, and Pleistocene sediments. Most of the stuff from this site has been identified and @MikeR's resources have been a great help for some other ones but I'd like some help on these. # 1, 2, and 3. Some Muricid? I'm not really sure where to start to try and narrow it down. #4 #5 Crepidula sp.?

Hi, just found this great site. Just getting back into fossil hunting after many years away from it. Wonder if anyone can help identify this scaled section of tail ? Which I found at Folkestone in the Gault clay deposits. Thanks for any info in advance.

Hello all! I am very new to fossil finding but it truly fascinates me. Most online pictures are tricky for me to properly indentify my finds. Found this buried in the sand on a man-made dredge island in the middle of the Savannah River. Guy I was with said it was a partial megalodon... what say you all?

Wondering what the shark teeth experts think of these. Found on man-made dredge island in Savannah River. I'm thinking A is great white and. B might be a bull shark, but am not positive and don't have guesses about the others. Thanks!

New here to the forum and to fossil hunting. Found a few teeth over the past few weeks was hoping to get some help with identification and where to find more in the low country. Living in mount pleasant with access to a 23 foot bay boat as well as a few paddle boards. Would love to meet some great people with the same interests as myself and my wife. We would love to host some new friends on our boat for some hunting. If you are in the area and wouldn't mind the company of some newbs that are eager to learn and hunt send me a PM. Looking to put the boat in the water and hitting a few spots throughout the week. I am looking to get out at low tide. I have a spot or two in mind. Looking for a few more spots to go besides the more popular areas. If you know of some good places and would like a free boat ride and some fossil hunting after these heavy rains send me a PM.

I know its very difficult to identify the animals these bones may have come from but any help to specify the animals will be very appreciated. They all come from a dredging operation near Houston. Thanks to everyone for your help. I hope to have a fresh group of pieces in the next week or so. I will be glad to add more photos if it would be helpful.

These 3 fairly large fragments have a similar appearance to one another with curved sides. They all come from a dredge operation near Houston Texas. Can anyone identify the animal they came from? They have a resemblance to a fossil earlier suggested to be an ancient turtle. Thanks to everyone.

I doubt these two fossils are from the animal. I'm not sure that they can be identified as to what animal they may have come from. They came from the same site as previous pieces near Houston Texas in a dredging operation. If anyone can identify them it would be greatly appreciated/ Thanks in advance

This is a fairly large bone fragment. It seems unusual with 2 rounded sides and one flat side. Does anyone have an idea just what animal it may have come from? Thank you.

I have another piece found near Houston Texas in a dredge operation. It has areas that are almost clear or crystal like but at the same time has a similar look and texture as bone. Does anyone have any ideas. Thanks so much.

I have tried to compare this fossil tooth to others previously identified but I can't determine if this jaw fragment and tooth are from a tapir or not. It looks like 2 teeth are missing. Thank you for your help.

I've posted photos of 5 fossils which were found in a dredge operation near Houston Texas. I think the large one is a fragment of a mammoth tooth but I really don't know just what the others are. They may all be fragments of teeth but I could use some help to identify them. Thanks for your time and help.

This fossil is different than any of the pieces found to date. It seems more porous than previous fossils. It has holes as shown with some running all the way through the fossil. It comes from the same dredge operation near Houston Texas as previous pieces. Thanks for your help.

I have included several photos of this mystery. Looking at it closely it almost looks like there are pieces or objects imbedded into it. I don't know if it is an animal fossil or a rock. It comes from the same dredge near Houston Texas. Thanks very much.

This piece looks to be layered. The outer sides have interesting texture, almost looks like soil between the layers. It was found in the same area near Houston Texas. Thanks again for your help.

I have several fossils that look like vertebra to me. I have taken shots of each side of 2 fossils in each photo. I know it's unlikely to identify them but I thought I would at least share them with the members. They all come from the same dredge location near Houston Texas.
