Is this fake oviraptor egg?
Rrunning posted a topic in Is It Real? How to Recognize Fossil Fabrications
I am not experienced in this at all and just looking for a quick opinion. There is an engraved date on bottom(1947) , would that mean it’s manufactured or do collectors date eggs when discovered? Thanks! -
Hi, I am new to the site. I have had this rock for 50 years. I would love to know what it is and how it was made. I don't remember much about the details on getting it. The kid I got it from lived in Virginia. I always thought it was a petrified egg. Some of the people I shown it to say it was just a stone in flowing water for a long time. A tool for native Americans to make paint, or a heating stone for native Americans to heat water. I have had it x-rayed, with no results. I would really appreciate anyone who can tell me about it or where I can get it tested without destroying it. The surface is porous looking not smooth.

I purchased this Hadrosaur Egg about 20 years ago from a reputable auction house. Back then I had no reason to question its authenticity and I doubt the auction house did either but times have changed and that blind trust has died. So, do you think it’s real or fake?

Real Hadrosaur Dino egg?
DatFossilBoy posted a topic in Is It Real? How to Recognize Fossil Fabrications
Hey guys, Saw this egg online and was wondering if it was real. To me it has the right eggshell texture but something seems off. Labelled as hadrosaur without location but is probably from China. Thanks! -
Good evening. Today, I would like to share another collection, a crystallized dinosaur egg. It’s from China. When you use a torch to illuminate inside, you will see a shining picture. If you played a game call Monster Hunter, you will know the feeling. Hope you all enjoy it. Thank you.

We own a small cattle ranch in Grant County New Mexico and I find so many enigmatic rocks here and this is my first post here on this or any other forum so apologies in advance if I am making errors and will make efforts to read all the new member material in hopes I do not for future posts. Excited to learn and thank you.

Hello, in 2021, my kids and I were hunting fossil fragments in the rock piles arranged as landscaping alongside a store. Rock landscaping location: Arlington, Texas, USA. Of course we have no idea where the piles of rock originally come from. While hunting, we came across this spherical piece, which looks like a compressed, fossilized, cracked egg to us. Since we've found pieces of Ammonites before, it didn't seem unreasonable to find something else. Can anyone identify if it is natural mineral or fossilized egg? Thank you.

My son picked this up while visiting his grandpa. We aren’t sure but know it’s probably a concretion. Would love it to be a real egg!

Is this Dinosaur egg real

I need some input to help determine if this oviraptor egg is real or fake. Supposedly there is some fossilized bone visible suggesting an embryo. I fully recognize how incredibly rare this is and I’m very much leaning toward fake, but I’d love to get a more experienced opinion.

Hi all, Please could I get an ID on what looks like an egg or acorn to me? It was found last week just east of sheringham Norfolk on the beach while looking for sea glass. Any help greatly appreciated... Craig

Hi, I saw this listing for a supposed real dinosaur egg, and wasn’t sure if it’s real or what species it may be from. It looks real to me but I’m not sure it’s a dinosaur egg. Unfortunately the seller doesn’t have a locality as they said it was passed down to them. Anyways i would appreciate any help with detecting whether it’s real or identifying what it’s from if it is real. Thanks in advance
