Hatched egg with baby/embryonic remains?
FF7_Yuffie posted a topic in Is It Real? How to Recognize Fossil Fabrications
Before I go further with getting extra photos and details and measurements of it--- a quick question, but are eggs like this, supposedly with small embryonic bone pieces actually available quite widely? I am surprised to have been offered it--like I thought these were like gold dust. But are they a thing and do they come up for sale rather than being museum pieces/studied? Is it worth me inquiring further about it and getting extra photos--or are eggs with embryonic/baby remains so rare that this isn't worth looking more into as it likely isn't actually baby/embrionic (The white clusters in the stone are apparently the baby bones--or are they jsut stones and gravel?). If they are a thing--it can be assumed that the nest/egg was destroyed shortly after birth, rather than the egg being cracked open during predation or something? Or it is impossible to tell. It is first I have seen one with supposed baby remains for sale which immediately made me think it's not worth looking more into. It's from Ganzhou by the way. 1918891949_BoneEgg.mp4 -
While prospecting for gold in Placerville, California on Weber Creek in a deep hole I found two eggs a dino bone fragment, which I sold to a local store and a seed grinding tool. The store owner also sold dino poop that he found in the area. Once I presented the eggs to him he pulls out a spray bottle of water lightly misted the eggs and said they were tacky. He said thats a sign of calcium. He still didnt know what species they were. The eggs easily fit in my hand. Is there anyone who can help with the possible I'd of these eggs? Thank you for your time.

So I found these in Lethbridge Alberta on the Old Man River in the Bear paw formation about 20 feet down from surface in some exposed shale formations. And we would like to figure out what it is?? The first one weighs about 2.3 pounds and length is 15.5 cm and 6.5 wide. The second is smaller at 0.6 pounds and length is 14.8 cm and 6.4 wide. We have found ammonite and baculite in the same area.

Hi there, I'm looking at possibly buying another saurpod egg. The seller identified it as a hypselosaurus priscus egg, Provence basin france. From the last post I did not on eggs I understand eggs are specifically attributed to hypselosaurus anymore? I'm looking for a museum quality piece as my other egg examples are just decent. Please give me your thoughts and let me know if you require more photos Thank you!

I’ve been working on a display centred around dinosaur eggs and fossils of young dinosaurs. I’ve so far gained quite a bit and have some more fossils on the way for the display. I will work on getting photos of the individuals pieces for now I’ll leave everyone off with the whole display currently. I will update this as time goes on.

Came across this weird item on our favorite site labeled as an egg. I’m thinking it could be a concretion, but there one part near the bottom that looks to have a piece of “shell” with texture. In the other broken open one there’s a close up that looks like whiteish ribs or possible feather? Can someone please help?

A long time ago, I came across a picture claiming to be an eggshell from an egg with evidence of hatchling behavior. It looked fairly legitimate - it does really look like the behavior of a small creature pecking out of the shell since the crack is focused on such a small point. My question is, is it possible to tell on smaller or larger eggshell fragments? Take smaller fragments that have cracks running across them like this one: or large entire portions of the egg like this one: What would likely indicate a shell fragment was pulverized by the elements, crushed by hatchling feet, or was actually cracked during the hatching process?

In some sandstone caves on my property there are layers of conglomerate stones laid into otherwise fine Hawkesbury sandstone. In amongst these there are hollow egg shape structures, some broken off but one in particular in intact but with a hole in it showing that it is hollow. They are all embedded in the ceiling of the cave. the one featured is about 4 inches long. Can some one tell me what they are likely to be?
