Recently purchased this squid from the Tucson show. Looked a little off to me compared to the photos online but still bought it on a whim. Does it have any significant touch-ups or fakery? Thanks in advance!

Howdy! I’ve recently inherited a small amount of money, which I intend to spend on a high quality fossil. Merry Christmas to me! (I’m sure my Mom would approve…) I’ve always wanted a Solnhofen dragonfly. Attached are a couple photos of a specimen of interest, identified as Aeschnogomphus. I’ve requested UV photos if possible of specimen, which is in Europe. I know it’s essentially all real. But is there artistic enhancement? Seller says no repair, but can’t say whether it has been enhanced. It is very, very expensive, a once in a lifetime purchase. Probably a good investment. But perhaps too expensive to buy online…From someone I don’t know… I can provide website name or link if allowed on this Forum. I also have my eye on a Burgess Shale fossil as an alternative, authenticity guaranteed, from a very reputable guy I’ve purchased from before. Any thoughts at all would be much appreciated. Cheers!

Hello, I'm looking at the following three listings for plant fossils, specifically Palaeocarpinus sp. "reproductive structures" with seeds. These are all said to be Paleocene age from the Sentinel Butte formation, North Dakota, and are all 70-100mm wide slabs. 1. 2. 3. I'm specifically wondering 1. if any of these seem enhanced, as I've heard sometimes is done with white shoe polish, and 2. whether they all seem to be the same species? For some reason the first two listings seem a bit different from the third with not as clear contrast with the matrix. I'm unsure if that's because of possible enhancement, different species/locality, or the first two are just worse specimens? The third visually looks the best to me. Thanks!

Just ordred a kind of "cheap" and not so well prepped and maybe enhanced keichousaurus. Would be nice to get some opinions about the condition of this fossil. I know I should ask before buying but the financial damage isnt that bad and I`m quite cuurious about this fossil. Will be pretty interesting to compare it with my other keichosaurus, which was my first ever fossile and a few times more expensive beeing from triassica.

I guess restoration is OK up to a point but are overly restored Heteromorphs common coming out Drôme? I've picked a couple up at what seems to be an average price for these examples in this condition. There's some resin between the ammos and matrix maybe as support. Do they often come out broken and are stuck back together? Certainly there is something going on as there is little room twixt ammo and matrix and ammos have been prepped there which looks far too clean to have been done on matrix. I've not yet had time to look for minute resin air bubbles on the fossils but the resin support doesn't look like it was hidden too well. I guess this could be intentional to show or a rubbish enhancement. One is soaking in water at the moment, acetone and UV lights are in my studio so can't do those tests tomorrow tho I might use Mrs B's nail polish remover to look for resin/colouring on the fossils. I'll get a hot needle out too. Rough images with not much info below, I'll take better pics later.
