    Eocarcharia tooth !

Yay, i finally got my hands on a nice Eocarcharia tooth from the Elhraz formation, Niger ! Its 3,5 cm in length and the broken end is quite smooth. Has anyone an Idea why ? It's as smooth as glass. Are there any rivers running through that formation which could have possibly sanded it down? Thanks to hear some of yours ideas!

Some theropods teeth from Niger to be identified.

Hi Guys, I recently got some photos from a friend of mine who bought these teeth from Niger. When he bought them, the seller told him that there is at least one tooth of Kryptops, Eocarcharia and Afrovenator in this lot, but he wanted to be sure. What do you think? In my opinion the first is from Afrovenator, the second and third from Eocarcharia, and about the last I'm not so sure. Thank you in advance.

    Niger theropod claw ID

Is anyone able to actually ID a claw like this? It is 9CM straight. Footclaw or handclaw even? Niger claw as you can see. And I am aware there is not that much information to ID a claw. But this one is pretty much complete.

    Eocarcharia? Kryptops?

Hello and Happy Friday! A while back I posted an alleged Eocarcharia tooth that was ultimately thought to probably be Eocarcharia, but possibly be Kryptops. I just got a more definitive Kryptops tooth that has me second guessing the Eocarcharia. So, the focus of this post is tooth #1, the smaller tooth (unless you don't think tooth #2 is Kryptops--then please let me know). Both are from Elrhaz. Tooth 1 (alleged Eocarcharia and the focus of the post): CH: 29mm CL: 12mm CW: 5.4mm Mesial serration density: 4/mm Distal serration density: 3.4/mm Tooth 2 (Kryptops comparator): CH: 36mm CL: 15mm CW: 6.5mm Mesial serration density: 3.4/mm Distal serration density: 3.4/mm Comparisons, Tooth 1 on the left: Thanks!
  5. I just received this tooth in the mail. It was sold as eocarcharia but the carinae on the front makes me wonder if it really is eocarcharia. What do people here make of it? It's 6.5 cm long. It's quite worn so i can't see any serrations on the backside, but the carinae is visible. Also, is the tip broken from erosion or feeding wear? It's from the elrazh formation, Gadoufaoua, Tenere desert, Niger @Troodon
  6. I've seen this listed as an unidentified partial theropod hand claw from the elrazh formation, Gadoufaoua, tenere dessert Niger. I can't see any red flags but I'm Leary of claws.. the bone structure looks right to me but what do people here think? It's 4.5 cm long
  7. Just purchased this Eocarcharia dinops tooth yesterday, and the seller is slightly questioning the ID, so I'm here asking for confirmation... Species: Eocarcharia dinops (?) Age: Lower Cretaceous (Albian) Formation: Elrhaz Formation Provenance: Gadoufaoua, Tenere Desert, Niger Size: Around 27mm (1") long; 11/0.5cm Distal Serrations Condition: No repair; stabilized in Butvar B-76 This is likely Eocarcharia, however the color may suggest Jurassic, though it could just be erosion. I checked old photos and they did come in with other Elrhaz teeth, but Jurassic teeth can sometimes get mixed into these lots by the original digger. Nonetheless, a nice tooth with distal serrations (11 serrations per 0.5cm).
  8. Hello, I am interested in two teeth. The first is Eocarcharia from the Elrhaz Formation, Niger - Gadoufaoua. Edited: Size - 1.63 inch Second is an unusual colored Carcharodontosaurus tooth from Morocco -2 inch. Now, is this Carch or one of the undescribed/indeterminate theropods and is there are repairs or restoration that people might be able to see? Thanks
