Once thought to be an early comatulid, it is now thought to belong to a separate lineage of nearly stemless pentacrinitids (Hess 2014). References: Simms, M.J. 1989. British Lower Jurassic Crinoids. Monograph of the Palaeontographical Society, London:1-103, pls.1-15 (No. 581) Hess, H. 2014 Origin and radiation of the comatulids (Crinoidea) in the Jurassic.
