we got some time ago some really nice trilobites from fezouata-biota in morocco. I am not very familiar with trilobites and use the famous book from Patrice Lebrun to determinate and got today some new great infos from Scott (Piranha). So, I hope I am right with my name for trilobite nr. 1: Foulonia What do you think? It´s a small one, including spines less than 2 cm

From the album: Trilobites from Morocco and Rest of the world
nice and small (2 cm) Foulonia sp., Ordovizium, Fezouata-Biota, Morocco -
Good day Can you help with the ID of this fossil from the Ordovician of Fezouata formation, Morocco. Cheers Malek

Acquired one in 2018, which I believe it should be a Calvapilosa kroegeri, or the 'armored worm'. Any ideas on this ID? Related link: https://www.theguardian.com/science/2017/feb/06/newly-discovered-slug-looks-like-a-hairy-toe-and-could-reveal-the-ancestry-of-molluscs-calvapiloa-kroegeri

Is this Fezouata hurdiid fake?
JUAN EMMANUEL posted a topic in Is It Real? How to Recognize Fossil Fabrications
Hello guys, so this specimen came up on the internet for sale. It is apparently a Aegirocassis benmoulai from the one and only Fezouata formation in the Draa Valley in Morocco. I am not trained with dealing with these types of specimens but what are the chances it is the real deal/thing??- 1 reply

Hello, friends. Can anyone give me a helping hand identifying this, please? Not the Asaphellus trilobite, but the other object. This is Moroccan Fezouata, so Early Ordovician. Notice the thoracic segments curve the opposite way to most trilobites. It is convex on both sides, though seemingly a bit flattened. It has a 'flange' on one side of the anterior and presumably had one on the other side. Bit of a trilo? Aglaspid? Xiphosurid? Some sort of echinoderm? Any guesses most welcome. Thank you very much. Scale here in inches : Removed a little more matrix. Scale here in cm. This shows the trilobite better! Thanks again. Cheers, Adam and Tidgy.

Thelxiope like creature from Fezouata Shale, described by Peter Van Roy 2013. It looks very similar to the Burgess one: Thelxiope palaeothalassia LINK: https://burgess-shale.rom.on.ca/en/fossil-gallery/view-species.php?id=123

Luolishaniid or Diania-like lobopodian from Fezouata Shale
YXWYX posted a topic in Member Collections
Here presents probably the first complete lobopodian fossil from Fezouata Formation, it is under describing at the moment. Outline looks very similar to Luolishania + Diania from Chengjiang Biota. Truly amazing creature. -
A laterally preserved Brachyaglaspis singularis.

Here presents three rare arthropods acquired from Fezouata Shale: Brachyaglaspis singularis gen. et sp. nov., which is described in 2015 for the first time. The paper is: 'A new aglaspidid euarthropod with a six-segmented trunk from the Lower Ordovician Fezouata Konservat-Lagerstätte, Morocco'. The first shows pretty nice outline of this aglaspidid, the third one is quite crappy...Fourth picture is the reconstruction of this type.

I am hoping someone on the forum might be familiar with Ordovician aged fossils from Fezouata. I believe this might be a large hyolithid but am not sure.
-
Hello dear fellows, Any ideas about this one from Fezouata Shale? It has 2,8 x 2,0 cm. A Brachiopod, a Hyolith, a Chrondrophore, a Clam??? Thanks in advance.

I don't know whether I should have put this in the ID section instead, as I'm looking for some info and for help in sorting out what I've got, but not necessarily IDs per se. But it's also a sort of show-and-tell, so here goes. The info I'm trying to sort out has to do with the locations and formation/stages of some of the items. To help, I'll post the Ordovician correlation chart from the ICS and this other one from a paper on the Valongo (Portugal) site recently posted in the Documents section, showing the known soft-bodied sites of the Ordovician... The latter seems a little too tidy, with the deposits fitting exactly within the given stages, but maybe it will be of some help:

A New Ordovician Trilobite Genus & Species
piranha posted a topic in Partners in Paleontology - Member Contributions to Science
A highly anticipated package has arrived from Spain. Attached below is one of two holotype casts of Kierarges morrisoni, a new trilobite genus and species named in my honor by the Great Spanish Trilobitologist: Joan Corbacho. One of the holotype casts has been donated to the University of Oregon's spectacular collection of trilobites. When Kierarges was first being described, it was thought to be a new species of Nerudaspis. Eventually all the specialists agreed this Moroccan isoteline trilobite is actually a new genus as well, giving it the special distinction of being a type species. In any event, it deserves its own thread in this recently created forum of outstanding paleontological contributions. This news event was reported a couple weeks ago in my open trilobite papers thread. I thought it could sneak under the radar when I posted a couple of inconspicuous trilobite papers. I probably should have anticipated that someone might spill the beans ahead of schedule! In a million years I would never imagine such a great reward for the research that brings so much fulfillment to every day. Geologically speaking, I'm hoping that 15 minutes of fame will be quite a long time! I think I see here a partial Ormathops sp. and partial Echinodermata. And maybe there is something more. This comes from a from the remains of a water hole near Alnif and can help to direct new searches. The coin as 2,3 cm = 0,9 inches diameter Any thoughts? Thanks in advance, Miguel
