Hello everyone! I found this last year on one of my hunts in the Hamilton Group in Central PA. I identified it initially as potential fish (placoderm?) material, but I'm not completely sure. I just dug it out of my collecting boxes and decided to post about it. It shows some similarities to scales and bones from the Catskill Formation, but much blacker. I assume that it is a scale, if fish material, but correct me if I'm wrong. I can provide additional images if necessary.

Hey all I scored this fish as part of a deal but I know nothing apart it apart from it's a fish (well.... duh!) Any chance of an ID from just the pics? I love the preservation, a lot of detail on this and my phones camera doesn't quite do it justice

Hi, Hope everyone is well? We found this in Lyme Regis yesterday and we are struggling to identify it. From the shape it looks like it could be a kind of fish head, and there looks to be a indent of an eye but we are not sure. Any help would be appreciated and it will make a 7 year old future paleontologist very happy! Thanks Austin

Hello there! A year ago I bought a fossil fish from Brazil at a convention, yet I am unaware of the animals genus. The fossil has a lenght of 37 cm's, and a skull the lenght of 7 cm. 0,7 cm is the average lenght of the individual vertebrae, 39 vertebrae are vsible in the fossil. Skull bones: Maxilla: 4 cm Subopegulum: 4.6 cm (lenght) 3 cm (height) Operculum: 4.6 cm (lenght) 3.5 cm (height) Dentary: 3,2 cm Height of Tail Fin: 7.9 cm Age Location: Presumably Romualdo Formation, based on Matrix and Preservation Aptian-Albian More Pictures in the comments, I am, somehow to dumb to know how to make an image smaller
