I found this near Logan utah, I have another “bone” fossil I found there that I would like to post also. A hater told me it was natural who looked at it in person. I just want to know. I am a proud rock hound. This seems odd to me. I found several horn coral fossils and sea life proof near by. This would have been near a lake bonneville shore at some point. The surrounding seems very sedimentary while the inside seems agatized. Following what looks to be an actual foot and not a print seems you can see the actual outline of how a toe was curled into the mud. There looks to be a total of 3 toes

Hello, latley I am starting to see some suchomimus claws on the internet. I think that I also saw some vender with those claws in Tucson thanks to @Troodon post. I wanted to make a topic in the ID section to know if someone has acces to a paper or knows of some material that helps Id this as suchomimus. Because rigth now my feeling is that if somebody finds a spinosaurid type of claw in Elrhaz Fm they just label it suchomimus and that's it. I will leave here some photos here of what i found (take ito account that some of them have restorations mostly in the tip):

Is this a proper foot?
Also_Loves_Music posted a topic in Is It Real? How to Recognize Fossil Fabrications
Hi! So, this is from a seller I've bought from before. Spino teeth, cropolite, some eggshell, nothing too weird. When I saw this foot, I found it really cool. It's supposed to be from a psittacosaurus. I'm supposed to pick it up later. So I'm reading up on this dinosaur, only to hear they are being faked a lot... I'd love to hear your thoughts!- 6 replies

Is it real? Struthiomimus center toe w/ claw & digits
connorghabra posted a topic in Is It Real? How to Recognize Fossil Fabrications
Hello, I was about to purchase this Struthiomimus specimen for my mother but I happened to come across this forum so I decided to make an account and post to see if you guys would be willing to offer any insight about the authenticity of these Struthiomimus claw & toe bones. The seller said he got the parts for this specimen from his friend that he has collected with before. He has plenty of testimonies going years back. Apparently the parts were all found within 10 miles of each other in Wilbaux County, Montana.- 6 replies

I collect armadillo fossils. All of my fossils have been purchased and I have been able to identify most of them using the internet. The attached photos are from bones I purchased labeled Holmesina carpals. Both seem to be the same bone, one from holmesina septentrionalis and one from holmesina floridanus (my guess). They are both river finds from Northern Florida, USA. I have not been able to find a photo or diagram showing this bone. Does anyone have a photo or diagram showing this bones position in the skeleton. If these bones are not from the Holmesina genus, I would like to know th

I tried researching this but all I can come up with is that it’s a foot/ankle bone from some mammal. Size is roughly 32 mm x 22 mm x 43 mm. Found in North Central Nebraska most of what I find is mid Miocene. @Harry Pristis

This one comes from a friend. He found this on a piece of sandstone that had fallen from an outcrop. With his GPS coordinates, it’s close to the border of the Greenbriar and the Mauch Chunk Formation. It looks like a modern mammal track to me, with 4 toe pads and a central pad. But I’ve identified 0 fossil animal tracks so far, so it might just be a strange arrangement of shapes. Mammals doesn’t fit, as it’s 100 million years too early. Synapsids are officially 10 million years out. So I’m at a loss. Anyone good with tracks?

What do you think about this Cave bear paw? The seller said that it's 100% genuine and authentic but i'm not sure.

This is a heavily permineralized bone. That is not in question. It was found along with many other Mammal bones likely Pleistocene. One has been identified. Another has been cut open and polished to show the inside and it is clear it is bone. This looks like some samples of foot bones I have seen. I would like to confirm it is not human and hopefully get a species.

I need your assistance to roam the Plains once more. Have this bison rear leg assemblage coming but it is missing the left side medial phalange bone. If anyone has a spare, I would love to trade for Bakersfield shark teeth or some absolutely loaded micro matrix from the same location, or ? Please PM me for trade possibilities and your wants. I need this bone but for the other side.

I know the general shape is right for a spinosaur toe claw, but I know spinosaur claws are a significantly faked thing, so getting someone who really knows what they're looking at, is the way to go!

Pterygotus posted a topic in Is It Real? How to Recognize Fossil Fabrications
This is being sold as a troodon foot claw from the Judith river, Montana. It measures 36mm. How does it look and does it look like the sickle claw found on the inner toe of each foot? Thanks in advance. -

jstewnews posted a topic in Fossil ID
This was found on the Jersey Shore - a beach on the western Atlantic. I unfortunately don't have a scale, but it measures 3 inches x 4 inches (7.6 cm x 10.2 cm). Any idea what it is?- 16 replies
