  1. I got this from an expo today, it was collected in Gill MA and supposed to be Anomoepus. The rock is about 6 inches by 4 inches. I'm not remotely familiar with tracks so hoping someone here can verify it. Pictures are with and without flash, let me know if you need other angles or anything to ID. Thank you!

    Fossil footprint?

Hi. This is a picture of a stone I found near Whitby several years ago. I have always thought it looks like a footprint but no idea if it is just a coincidence that it looks like this. The sample is well cleaned and the shape is an imprint in the stone. Photos are the best I can do with my phone. Hoping with all the experts on here that someone can help.

    Possible footprint?

I’m gonna need some help on this one... I’m not even sure whether it’s a fossil or just geological. Found at Sugar Creek in Crawfordsville, Indiana
  4. Microraptorfan

    Is this a footprint?

Found this at Rocken End, St Catherine's point, Isle of Wight, think it comes from the greensand formation but I'd be surprised if this is a footprint since this is a marine deposit pictures attached below
  5. This is a “is it real” thread and also looking for an ID. Although I suspect that the ID part will be impossible. Maybe someone may recognise the presevation/colour and be able to have a guess at a location. I picked this footprint up at auction. The location/any information on it has been lost unfortunately. The pictures don't really do it justice it looks fantastic and 3-D to the eye. The specimen doesn't seem to have any coating on and has someones collection number in it. So i’m guessing it’s the real deal?
  6. This is said to be a dinosaur footprint from Ganzhou, China. It measures 50cm in length. It is convex (rather than being a concave depression). Do you think it is really a footprint?

    Permian footprint fossil

permian footprint fossil anyone know speices and location?
  8. Made an incredible discovery at home tonight when I noticed tiny baby dinosaur tracks about only 5.1mm long on a ripple slab I had found. I've never seen baby footprints so small before, so I'm amazed. No wonder I didn't notice them for nearly two weeks after I had found them this month! Since there seems to be a partial adult on the edge it makes me wonder if this dinosaur was walking with its new born baby.

    Dinosaur Footprint

Discovered this footprint in West Texas. Can anyone help me identify the footprintee? Thanks in advance for the help.
  10. I finally found the dinosaur footprint at Saltwick bay, Yorkshire. I took a picture yesterday because i think you guys will enjoy it also Hammer for scale. It looked alot better in 2010. I wonder how many more years it will be identifiable as a footprint before it is completly eroded away It's most likely from a Stegosaurus.

    Dinosaur Footprints?

Good evening to all! Dinosaur Footprints? In Argentina, my daughter discovered some lages of rocks in the middle of the bush, somewhere ... I did not go there. My daughter just sent me these pictures. From my experience, they are natural deformities of the rock, but anyway, I have decided to post here to ascertain what your opinion is. I thank you for all your help. Thank you! @Fossildude19

    Possible dinosaur footprint?

Hi all, I found this one seven years ago along the western shore of Georgian Bay, Ontario. It looked to me like the footprint of a very small theropod of some sort, but it might just be a misleadingly shaped rock. Any help would be appreciated!

    Jurassic Footprint?

Hello fellow fossil fans, This a very large piece from Durlston Bay, just past Peveril Point west of Swanage on Dorsets Jurassic coast. The location is better known for shell beds small fragments of reptile and fish particularly teeth. Sorry that I don't have a ruler on me for scale, the spoon is a tea spoon and the whole specimen is just over a foot across. Is it a footprint or have I manhandled a very heavy psudofossil a long way for nothing? All coments welcome, its not the greatest of pictures so if more is required let me know.
  14. Hi Guys, I'm wondering if these 2 Grallator variabilis (footprints) look real. They are from Aveyron, France and supposed to date from the Lower Jurassic, Hettangian. Measurements: plate 1: 29 x 27 cm, plate 2: 28 x 24 cm. The inprint has a size of approx. 13 cm. Weight: 4.9 kg

    Possible Batrachopus Track

    From the album: FreeRuin's Finds

A better, non-chalk image of a previous post. I think it might be a possible Batrachopus footprint (missing a toe, the rock is broken on the left side). Hartford Basin Portland Formation Western Massachusetts

    Possible Batrachopus Track

    From the album: FreeRuin's Finds

It looks the part of a Batrachopus footprint (missing a toe) with the proper size and location but I cannot say for sure. Hartford Basin Portland Formation Western Massachusetts

    Small Footprint

    From the album: FreeRuin's Finds

Either a small footprint or a partial one I believe it to be a Grallator due to its shape and size. Picked it up while hiking. Hartford Basin Portland Formation Massachusetts
  18. The Green River Formation is one of the most well-known fossil sites in the world, occupying present-day Colorado, Utah and Wyoming. This Lagerstätte has been noted for its well-preserved fish fossils, as well as numerous invertebrates, plants, and sometimes even reptiles and birds. Green River fossils are Eocene-aged, at 53.5 to 48.5 million years old. Thankfully, not only are Green River fossils attractive, they also remain affordable to the casual collector. Allow me to present my humble collection. Crocodile tooth Borealosuchus sp. Southwest Wyoming Water bird tracks (possibly sandpipers or plovers) Presbyorniformipes feduccii Vernal, Utah Bird feather Aves indet. Southwest Wyoming Crane flies & Mosquitoes Pronophlebia rediviva & Culex sp. Parachute Creek Member; Douglas Pass, Colorado
  19. I purchased this from a seller months ago and wanted some insight. The seller bought this from another person who found the fossil itself. However, the seller says that 1, or 2 of the grallator tracks may be exaggerated or not tracks. It seems to me that the Eubrontes track is indeed authentic but I wanted to know what you guys think? These days people scam all over the Internet, but I have faith that the seller was truthful. Thanks in advance for feedback.

    Dinosaur Footprint?

I posted some finds recently but none of those turned out to be footprints. I recently went out and collected again in the Potomac Group and I think I may have found a possible dinosaur footprint. Here's hoping, none of my others seemed to be. Early Cretaceous Potomac Group Maryland Thanks for any help you can provide!

    Dinosaur Footprint?

I found this specimen while hunting in the vicinity of Washington DC. I know dinosaur footprints have been found from the formation I was hunting in (Patuxent Formation, Potomac Group), including some fairly recently. I have found numerous fossils from the area I recovered this from, however those were from the ironstone/mudstone and not this kind of rock. I believe it might be a weathered dinosaur footprint, perhaps hadrosaur? From what I've read ornithopod, hadrosaur, sauropod, and ankylosaur tracks are fairly common in the Patuxent. It does take on the appearance of a fragmentary hadrosaur footprint I've seen online: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/152278031125460468/ The age of this fossil is lower Cretaceous, about 120 million years old. Patuxent Formation, Potomac Group. Thanks for any help!

    Dinosaur Footprint Cast?

Hello, I found this last year during a fossil hunting trip in the Bendricks, South-Wales. I know their are several track ways and some 200+ footprints embedded within the rock around the local areas, however I have not seen a footprint cast from this locality either (that I know of). I have tried finding a contact for the geology department at the national museum based in Cardiff, though it has been unsucessful. Any light you can shed on this would be much appreciated! It may be just a conveniently shaped rock, however it is always worth asking. Apologies for the picture, I've had to rely on someone else for the picture - it is slightly larger than than palm size. Local rocks are Triassic - approx 220 million years

    What made this footprint?

Hi! My friend went to a museum and sent me a picture of this fossilized footprint. He said that they don't know what it is from. Does anyone have an idea?
  24. Hey yall Im looking for untouched fossils to practice prepping. Dont really care what it is. To trade I have casts of a Acrocanthrosaurus footprint. I made these from a trackway were I live. They can be seen here Please email me info at glenn@drivetanks.com
  25. Hello, this is a part 2 of my last thread with some of my other finds that I've found this at a site in new jersey where some footprints have been found from the Late Triassic/Early Jurassic, I am unsure about if these are footprints of sorts, any help will be appreciated thank you!
