  6. Hello, my name is Max and I will begin collecting fossils. My passion for fossils and especially dinosaurs started when I was a child. I had lots of dinosaur toys, watched a lot of movies and documentations, studied facts about them and felt like a paleontologist with my excavation kits. My fascination for this prehistoric world has never been estinguished. That's why I decided to buy a tooth of a spinosaurus, which is one of my favorites. Before buying I have read some "real or fake"-topics here in the forum but I am still not sure if the tooth I'd like to buy is real, composited from different teeth or even fake. The tooth is very large (15.5cm) thats why I thought it could possibly be composited to increase the size. The selling shop states that the tooth was repaired. Would greatly appreciate any help from you. Thank you. Max

  8. Hey! I have just been given this fossils, the previous owner could not find the certificate of authenticity, and I am not sure if it is real or not. It's very heavy, the teeth stand out a lot, and they feel smooth. Could please someone help us identify if it could be real? Thanks.

    Tooth? Claw? Bone? Spear tip?

New to hunting fossils/shark teeth and found this unknown object, was thinking maybe a tooth or claw but some buddies say maybe bone carved spear tip or something. Found it in a river in southern Alabama with what they tell me is a Eocene formation on the river bank.

    What is this?

My father was very found of nature and had an eye for valuable thing which he found in nature. In my home hometown area in Sogn, Norway, near the great Jostedal glacier, is rarely fossiles to find, becauce the glacier came out of this area, called "The home of Glacier" (Breheimen), many times in the past, to cover a great part of Europe during the ice-ages the last 2.3 million years. Here the nature is very much beautifully shaped with by the movement of the glaciers, and more movements than in other places. That is why the ancient sediments are removed and fossils are rare. However, it can be fossils from more recent times, and I have always wondered what this thing is which my father found many years ago . Anyone have an idea? I will also share with you two of the things he found in nature there, to make art of of them: He made several of these chairs, in the tradition of the Viking time, and if you sit down on one of his chairs, the chair will strart to play music from inside it.

    Unknown fossil

I wonder what this strange circle can be. The size is 1 cm in diameter, from Upper Ordovician west of Oslo, Norway. Could it be a foram?
  12. I found this strange form in a stone from ordovicium. The size is less than 1 cm, never seen anything like it. Look almost as it is artificial but it is a real fossile. Any one have any idea what it can be? Martin

    Unknown Cambrian

Today I went back in time to what I believe is a cambrian site in Norway. I have some graptolites if someone like to find the age.... The fossile I however want to present first is this strange one. Is it a graptolite or a worm? Perhaps its inner parts? The size is not more than 1 cm length. Martin

    Petrified/Fossilized Nutshell

Found out near a dry lake by Barstow, CA. I was wondering if anyone could help ID this piece, it’d be very much appreciated. I’m only able to provide one photo, so hopefully it’s enough.
  15. hi guys, here are the two bones I found from the big brook, NJ yesterday. There were found in the mud of the river bank (I did not dig but the mud was exposed for unkown reason). I know there are a lot of mordern bones in this river area. They look like fossilized bone due to the iron. can anyone help to indentify if they are fossilized bones or morden bones? thanks!
  16. I was at a creek bed today looking for stone points and artifacts. I found these two fossils Any help IDing them appreciated.

    What do I have?

I know nothing of fossils. But when out hiking I keep an eye open for arrow heads and other rocks that look out of the ordinary. While hiking an old indian cliff dwelling trail, I saw this rock. It has a strange look to it like its a fossil of some sort. Do I just have a worn smooth rock or is it something else? Thanks in advance. It is approx. 2 inches long and 3/4 wide
