    Hello from north Wales

Hi everyone, long time fan of prehistoric creatures of all kinds! But lately I decided to take a dive into the world of fossil hunting/collecting and give it a serious go! Like many people, Dinosaurs have been a big part of my childhood and has always been there as an interest ever since. In recent years I took my passion for marine biology and became more and more fascinated with prehistoric marine fauna. I moved to Wales some years ago so there are quite a few places with Carboniferous exposures around the coast (some inland, but have yet to explore). I have a small amount of coral/shell finds so far, and even a small piece of calamite from the same area. lately I have had a major draw towards anything from the Pleistocene era. With the emphasis mega fauna and archaic Hominids. I have just begun to collect fossils from this era. With a decently intact partial cranium of a Bison Priscus, a partial juvenile Cave Bear jaw, woolly Rhino and Mammoth Fur. If anyone knows of locations within the UK to maybe find my own ice age fossils, it’s be hugely appreciated. I don’t mind taking the journey.

    Intro and looking to connect

Hi all you dirt under the finger nail fossil maniacs you…. Hi I’m Skye, Mornington located, fossicker who would love to connect with others who would like to hunt together …. Ex student to the late and great prof. Neil Archibald…my spark started when someone gave me 1988 - Illustrated Dinosaur Encyclopedia by Dougal Dixon for maybe my 6 bday…. I still have my ratty copy….and then prof. Archie rocked my world when he took us on excursions… have spent many, many years trying to find my old journal entries with location but alas I fear they are gone. Have free dived my way around Port Phillip picking up bits as I went…. Beaumaris, Mornington, lilydale ….I would love to make friends, maybe find where it was that I was finding bits as my twin toddlers can spend 7.5 hours scouring the beaches with me hahaha…. Covid has killed my mojo but I want to find my groove again…

Hello, I am completely new to this forum as well as posting anything to do with fossils. I am no expert by any means but I do have a knack for finding fossils. I’ve found so many over my life that I just collect them and hope that one day I’ll find someone who can identify my collection. I have mostly shells and corals. I’ll post my photos over time. Happy hunting!
  6. Hi folks, I'm Paco an amateur fossils collector from spain. I'm from a place in spain (Jaen) where fossils do abound so I've been interested in them since I was a kid. I enjoy collecting them with my friends and family and I usually identify them with the aid of guides written by local experts, but I have some with which I had no luck. Thank you for letting me into your community and best wishes to all.

    Need help identifying these fossils

My friend and I found these about 55 miles due West of the far West side of Houston, TX. We are still looking for more at the location so I am being vague about the exact spot. Sorry about that. They weren't very deep in the ground and were found while digging a pond eight feet or so under the surface and the soil is sandy mixed with, clay, and bull rock. This is the only picture I have of what we found and I know it is hard to tell how large these things are but that bone fossil in the right corner is probably 24-30 inches long. I think this is mammoth teeth fossils and mammoth bone fossils but I'm no expert. What do you guys and gals think? Whatever this is its pretty cool to us since neither of us has ever searched for fossils before. We're hooked on it now!
