In all seriousness, a few days ago, I washed three more of the fossils from my fossil hunting extravaganza of which I will eventually post about. I think I see two maybe three crabs in this chunk of what I thought was coral. I am not sure what the matrix is other than a lot of coral and I am still new to prepping; actually, I haven’t really prepped other than washing the fossils. I am posting horrible pictures of which I am sorry about. So in the first picture, is that a smashed crab face? There are long pincher arms and side legs but they are not connected to this part. Do any of you see the crab? If it is a crab, is it worth prepping. I think there’s a second crab on the bottom but it is smaller

I've just come back from a lovely fossil hunting trip in Folkestone! Here's what we found *unpreped* in 3 hours: Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area, i'll post more photos when they're clean!

Greetings! I'm new on here. This came from my Father who was a rock hound and traveled to Colorado every year. I inherited this and have no idea what it is. Can anyone help? (3 lbs 4 oz, 4 1/2" x 4 1/2".) Thank You! Sherri

Hi all, This is a great forum, very glad to have found it. The reason I was looking for a good source of information on fossils is: I found this today while picking weeds. The teeth appear to be deer, but the "gumline" is wood, or at least something very similar to wood, so I imagine these teeth are fairly old? I would say each row of teeth is about 5 inches long. I can take more pics if anyone likes. Anyone have an estimate of age? Sorry for name of pic, but I found these teeth fascinating and repulsive at the same time.

Never found a fossil before so please bare with me. Let me know if I have something here or not. Looks like some sort of bug because of the pattern on the backside. Also, I couldn't get a super close shot cause I'm using my iphone to capture the pictures but I could see what looked to be wing like veins or patterns in one part of the fossil.

I found this in Northwest Georgia on a farm. It appears to be a large smooth snail shell with the snail protruding out, Its very cool I just dont know that much about it. The rock itself appears to be made up of layers and is very heavy, maybe from the cretaceous period which would make it 100 million years old at least, It was under the ground maybe two feet. Id say it ways about 12 pounds, If yall could tell me more about it I would appreciate it. PM me or email me at leviself <AT> att.net
