San Antonio, Tx 78023 After this weekends hard rain, this rock was sticking out. It looked much smaller at first. Oddly enough a rock I found a couple of months fits with it. The fractures on the front of it is why I’m asking what it is. It kind of looks like card board between the fractures.

Hi, I want to apologise if this is a silly question or if it has been talked about before, but a few of the fossils in my collection were commented by the seller as having filled fractures. I wanted to ask exactly what this means, like if it has matrix/sand added to stabilise the fossil or if some composition has occurred (or if the entire fossil is one natural piece), and if this is a normal practice for fragile fossils. Thanks.
