This evening I made a very quick stop at the Alfred Ring Park in Gainesville, Florida to do about 20 minutes of collecting in the Hogtown Creek. I did not find much of anything ( bone fragments, small turtle shell portion and ray and shark teeth), but it was fun. Below are a few pics of the area and my finds.

I found this vertebra in Rattlesnake creek this weekend in Gainesville, Florida. I know that it is badly damaged and that it will be difficult, if not impossible, to identify. Any guesses would be appreciated.

In the last batch of gravel I brought home from Rattlesnake Creek in Gainesville, Florida I found a couple tiny fossils that I'm trying to identify. The one picture with a scale is in mm and I'm sorry about the blurriness of some of the pictures. These things are tiny! Even putting them under one of those magnifying lights and taking pictures through the magnifying lens I still wasn't able to get the best photos. Hopefully they will be clear enough that someone might recognise them. I think that the first fossil is either a tooth or claw but it might turn out to be something else entirely. I'm leaning more towards tooth as it doesn't seen to curve enough for a claw and I think I see a hint of enamel. In case it's not clear in the pictures whatever it is is not completely round.

Hey there! I'm new to this forum and am curious about some fossils that I've had for a while now. I've attached photos of two fossils that were found at Hogtown Creek in Gainesville Florida about 2 years ago. One of them looks like a canine tooth (~1.25 inches) and the other is a vertebra of something. Wondering if the experts here may have any ideas about the animals they came from? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!!
