petrified ginkgo from US: is this real?

I have had really a lof of ginkgo-leafs from dakota, but never some like the ones I show. Have been asked about if it is real or not. I would assume it is artwork. comes from US, cretaceous, this is the info I got Size of the leaf is around 10 cm wide (around 4")

Final Round of Real vs. Fake

This is actually quite enjoyable finding out which fossils are real and fake. First pic we have a fossil flower stamen from the Green River Formation in Utah. The second piece was quite cheap, but it's from Morocco (Anti-Atlas Mtns.) and it seemed odd to me that the bottom Orthoceras has the same pattern as the matrix below it. But perhaps you have an explanation for that. The third piece is a Ginkgo leaf from the Sentinel Butte Formation of North Dakota. The final piece is a Juvenile Megalodon tooth from Pungo River Formation of North Carolina. This specimen of Ginkgo adiantoides, comes from the Paleocene of North Dakota. The slab measures roughly 3-3/4 x 4 inches Bought this one as I have a bonsai Ginkgo tree that I got from Japan and really like how they have been around so long- 1 comment

Triassic Cumnock Formation..Ginkgo leaves? And Plant Stems?

Made another trip to the Triassic Cumnock formation of North Carolina. Split a LOT of shale, got what I believe are 3 nice plant fossils!!! (6 total since they split) One looks like a compression fossil of ginkgo leaves I think..the other 2 I think are plant vasculature. Can someone confirm this? I want to make sure these are actual fossils too, not pseudofossils... Also, I found some nodules as a part of one of the plant stems with odd bluish yellow minerals..not sure what that is. Thanks everyone!!

Unidentified plant from Jiufotang Formation of Sihedang, Lingyuan, Liaoning

Hello, I have an unidentified plant from the Jiufotang Formation of Sihedang, Lingyuan, Liaoning Province I acquired this plant as a Baiera sp. However, due to the way it was preserved, I cannot tell if it has the characteristic "split-vein" lobes of Ginkgoales. Also problematic is that Baiera sp. from Jiufotang seem to come in a wide variety of shapes Here are two pics of Baiera sp. from China. There is also a paywalled article A new species of Baiera from the Early Cretaceous Jehol Biota of southeastern Jilin, China so I'd appreciate if anyone can share info from it Anyway, there is also Liaoningocladus boii from the Jehol Biota which is a close match for my plant What do you guys think? If you suspect it's another plant genus, please feel free to tell me. Thank you
