First up is the Lower Silurian or Llandovery and I begin with a problem. I posted this one incorrectly in Adam's Ordovician as it had got it's label muddled up with an Ordovician Favosites I had that has vanished in the move here, but is being replaced by kind forum member @Herb Anyway, this, I remember now I've found the correct label, is from the greenish Browgill Formation, part of the Stockdale Group from a cutting near Skelg

Hey! I came across this agatized fossil coral on the Central Oregon Coast not that long ago, but have absolutely no idea how to further identify it. I did see one other thread here with a guy that had something like it but they didn't have any definitive answers yet either. Any ideas? This type of thing isn't common to find here which is why I'm curious to know more. Thanks!

A few old collection specimens of Devon coral that I've acquired over the years. In scarce supply now, the south Devonshire area around Torquay and Teignmouth was once (mainly 19th and early 20th c) the centre of an ornamental "marble" industry. Much of it went into high class interiors (floors, pillars etc.) but there was a large usage of small pieces for ornamental objects (desk furniture, trinket boxes) and also as inlay pieces for magnificent tables. Fossil specimens were also specifically sold as such. It's not a true marble but a range of well compressed, heated and mineralise
