What is this tusk / horn?

Here's the next one from my tub of unknown fossils. For these photos I took any fragment that was of the same color and pieced them together. I cannot guarantee all pieces (except for the top one, connecting to the second) are actually from the same bone. The top one definitely fits as a puzzle piece to the second, large one. The two photos show one side of all, then the flip-side of all. Scale: As seen in the photos from first bone to last, length is ~50 cm. Largest part of the largest / 2nd bone is 8-9cm width. Location Found: Unknown. Would have likely been WA or OR state but I'm only speculating and do not know the actual origin. I feel like (at least some portion of this fossil) is a tusk or horn of some sort but I'm looking for other's opinions. I hope that it is a horn from a dinosaur/some kind of ceratopsid but it could be some other kind of animal or bone altogether. Also the last 2 bones could not even be part of the main one. They just happen to look to me like part of the same. Note: This and all posts I'll create are from a tub full of unknown, supposedly all dinosaur fossils collected around areas of WA, OR, and even Canada which I recently acquired from a collector. However, I don't know for certain when or where they were collected. I am not an expert whatsoever. Hoping the community can help me figure out what they are.

    Something New

Hello I'm new to the group and need some help with revealing what I have been researching for the past 5 years. It would be nice if I could get someone to come and see what I have and guide me in this process of making it known to the geology world. I live in Virginia on the North end of Rockbridge county. The elevation here is right around 1800ft. The closest stream to me is a mile away and flows west to east. My property is a sediment bed from when water flowed east to west over a waterfall. In this sediment bed I have found something new. Please help.
  3. I had a shale piece split that has 2 trilobites in it close by, 1 about 1 1/2in. and other just under 2in. Both are missing cheeks and I haven't tried cleaning them up yet. Shale is about 8 1/2in. long and 4in. in wide in widest part. Shale is about 1 to 1 1/2in. thick in different spots. The question would be with the shale still being thick and having cracks all over, would most try to split it more? Or should try glue cracks on sides and try save it as 1 piece. If as 1 piece only got starbond glue and elmer's glue. (Top with trilobites) (top closer) (bottom) (side 1) (side 2) (side 3)

    Question about amber

I was hoping to get a piece of amber with insect inside and was wondering if there was any good way to know if its real from photos? Or anything to have a better chance of it being real? I've heard when you have the piece can test like (salt water/uv light) but would be nice to not end up with fakes.

    utah help

Was trying to prep. some trilobites and wasn't sure what a few things where. Still trying to learn more of these things. The first 1 looked bit different from other things seeing and wasn't sure if was maybe a upside down head piece or something else? The 2nd one I found a trilobite but it was upside down. So I tried to prep. from the other side and hit what wasn't sure of. There is a head piece of a trilobite to the side but wasn't sure the rest of it was? #1 #1 #2 upside down trilobite #2 what hit on other side of trilobite (was around the top of where trilobite should be) #2 (different angle)

    Suposedly a dinosaur bone

I have this bone, that came in a box full of other bones. This one seems much older and was sold to me as a suposedly dino bone, but seller wasnt sure. Bit of a mystery that I am trying to solve. Maybe someone can help me with this? I will clarify some things-: • this specific bone seems more petrified that the other bones in the box. Those are pleistocene, but this specific bone is heavier and seems much older. More like solid rock. • the bones were gifted to an artist that wanted to make something of it, eventually this artist decided to use different things things for that and put this box up on a local online thriftstore (Marktplaats) for a small amount of money. I bought it, she told me that she was told by who gifted it that it might contain dinosaur bones. She didnt have any other information. • im looking for bones that have a somewhat similar shape, like a crocodile leg bone, smaller theropod bones, a collar bone, anything that might put me in the right direction. • commonly, dinosaur or reptile related bones for sale in The Netherlands come from either Germany, France or Morocco. Statistically speaking, those type locations could be close to its origin. • yes, I am aware this isnt much to go on, and that I will still have quite some work to determine this further. Thanks in advance

    Utah fossil

Was going through Utah shale and have found a lot of these spot like fossils. But 1 I found seem to be the only one, that I found with a raised circle around it. Wasn't sure what it was? Not sure if the pictures will be good enough to show (circle part) well but thanks for any help.

    Tybee island spoil island

Hello. we went on a fossil trip while in Tybee definitely recommend. I found this piece and I’m stumped. Could be nothing but the curve trenches makes me feel like maybe it’s a tooth but there is no root looking areas on any of the sides (all sides in photos) so probably not a tooth. A girl can dream. let me know if you got any other thoughts .

    Is this a fossil

Hi, I'm new to the forum and would like help in telling if this rock I found this summer is indeed a fossil. I found it in the Loire Valley which I think was mostly sea and where fossils are pretty uncommon (which is why I have my doubts on this rock really being a fossil).
  16. Hiya everyone someone’s selling a trilobite, but hasn’t got a name or locality, normally I can tell straight away if a trilobite is real but the pictures aren’t the best and it’s like no trilobite I’ve seen, not sure if it’s a replica or a fake made to look like a isotelus.

  18. 12.6" Mosasaur Prognathodon Fossil, 2 lbs 6 ounces, 4.7 inches wide, 1.5 inches thick Location- Qued Zem, Morocco Seller doesn’t mention anything about repair or restoration so I’m not sure about that I’m wondering if it’s restored. Are the teeth original to the jaw? And are those bite marks

    Fossil fish preparation

I got a fish fossil, which is the first I've ever done. They had lines marked and was wanting to ask if I may have missed something? There was 2 line marks below and 3 on top that would guess was for fins. But the fish seemed to stop way before any fins? There is a raised line bump near the back of the spine(back where tail fin should be), is it a second fish maybe? or did I mess up?

    Mazon fossil help

I got some mazon fossils and was opening them. I am new to opening and ID these fossils and would be thankful for any help. The first photo seemed like there was more then 1 thing but wasn't sure. With the last photo, any good way get the white stuff off?
  21. Location is kem kem beds, seller said less than 5% restoration. I know nothing about claws but this one almost looks too good to be true and too perfect but I’m not sure how to definitively tell if it’s real or fake

Is this a T. Rex tooth?

1 inch tooth. Seller says it’s a T. Rex tooth, from what I’ve seen the T. rex teeth are more robust this one looks narrow but I’m not sure. From hell creek

Can anyone identify this? It was found in Northern Arkansas in the United States. It feels like rock but looks like bone. Has circles similar to what growth rings look like but not for sure.
