    Bird?

My buddy found this on the beach in Florida. The fact that it's hollow makes me think it's a bird bone. Any ideas?

Found a fossilized bone in Antarctica?

Hey, I found this bone-looking fossil while on a hike on James Ross Island in Antarctica. As many other fossils have been found in the area, I’m wondering if anyone can help identify this? We had strict rules not to remove anything from Antarctica, so I’ve left the fossil where I found it. Sorry for the lack of measurement.

    Possible pterosaur/bird bone?

Hi! I'm a new user who's really into marine reptile bones, by which I mean mosasaurs and plesiosaurs from the Late Cretaceous strata found where I live. I've recently found a small yet satisfying piece that seems to be a hollow bone of a pterosaur/bird. The age of the strata is Late Campanian/Early Mastrichtian and the rock itself is an erratic piece of an "opoka" - a siliceous limestone typically found in Poland and Germany. The bedrock from which it originates lies very likely underneath the Quarternary cover in what is now the Gdańsk Bay (SE Baltic Sea region). It's hollow inside and when viewed with a 60x magnification LAGs and Haversian Canals are visible. Is it likely to be a bone of some tetrapod, say pterosaur/bird? Or might it come from a fish? (that is, if fish actually posses hollow bones, which I might be not aware of yet). Any answers will be very much appreciated. Excuse me for any writing mistakes, which I might make, I'm not any native English speaker. If any more photos are needed I'll send them right away. Cheers, Simon

    Mystery bone

I was looking around marsh quarry, Colorado and I found this. It looks like a bone fragment. It has a really black color seems like it consists of ash and it also shows traces of hollow bone.
  5. • Bone is from Chandler Bridge formation in Ridgeville, South Carolina. One end is partially closed over, like a node of bamboo (left panel in top image). • tooth is from Drum Island in Charleston Harbor, South Carolina. Seems to match some internet images annotated as juvenile ground sloth tooth. I'm not sure if either end is the chewing surface. Possibly the surface shown in the bottom-right two images of lower image. Thanks for any thoughts.

    Unknown fossil bone

Unfortunately , I cannot add much info on where this was found. To be honest I plan on using it as a handle for a steak knife. Unless it is something of value or rarity. Any comments welcome. It would be great to know if this is a dino bone or what species. It is fairly heavy and hollow inside.
