Lucky me the river level is dropping after a small increase but it was enough for me to hit the usual spot and find a few things today. Found this very solid specimen that after searching online I believe it might be a bison 3rd phalanx or a hoof core? I almost passed it by because I thought it was a rock...it's definitely fossilized. It's the first one of these I've found so I thought it was pretty cool. Probably an overkill on photos but I wanted to get the best photos I could of it. Found in SE Texas on a gravel bank.

Here are pictures of a bone fossil found by my wife at Myrtle Beach. It reminds me of horse fossils I have seen, but not exactly. Can anyone please help id?

Wanted to share this hoof I found yesterday. Not entirely sure which exact species this is but is likely neohipparion based upon the literature.

I made it out to the Brazos River for a while on this beautiful, sunny day. The temps ranged from 49 to 71 with low humidity and virtually no wind......perfect! I found a hoof core that seems different from the horse hooves I’ve found. It’s a little beat up, but maybe someone will recognize it. I placed it next to another hoof core that Harry recently identified as tapir. The tapir is on the left and the hoof in question is on the right in each of the pics. @Harry Pristis @fossilus @Lorne Ledger @Shellseeker @GPayton

Hi A few weeks ago I acquired a small ungual that was found in the Kyzyl Kum desert in Uzbekistan (Bissekty Fm). It looks like a hadrosaur hoof to me. I assume a more detailed ID is not possible though. Do you agree? Thanks Felix

I found this in quaternary alluviums but near a spot with a confirmed vert fossil find. It looks to me like half a cloven toe, but the mineralization seems sketchy. What do you experts think? Could it be a trace, like mud-filled footprint or is it another pseudofossil!? Thanks for humoring me!

Found In southern Indiana in river rock. Object is about 2” wide at bottom and about 2.5” tall. Seems as though this rock is loaded with interesting finds. Is it a tooth or hoof? Maybe. A primitive claw?

Found two of these similar shaped stones. They both have the resemblance a tooth. Curious if anyone has any insight. They were found in Charente, France. They seem to be possible internal molds of crustacean. I would greatly appreciate if anyone has any information on this. Thank you!

Hello again, I found this unusual shaped piece on a beach on West Coast, Florida. It's hard to tell whether it's a suggestive rock or mineralized bone. It reminded me of a claw or hoof core. I attached 5 photo views. What do you think?

Ok, last one I promise. I have found a few pieces of these fossil bone fragments with an odd type of material attached to them. Rather odd texture, sort of bumpy. My first thought was some type of skin or hoof. I am puzzled. Any ideas? Found in Post oak creek, Grayson Co. Texas Lower Austin, upper Eagle Ford Gulf series.

Hi Everyone! I found this today digging in an outcropping of the San Mateo formation in Oceanside, California. I have found horse teeth at this site before. Not sure about this one, but I am wondering if it could be a hoof? Any thoughts are greatly appreciated! Thanks

Please help identify this fossil. There are 2 what appear to be hoof prints along with some shells. They were found in a river bed near Akron, Ohio. I'm sorry for the vagueness, but I am new to the fossil world.

Has anyone an idea from what animal that hoof is from... Many thanks Kati

Found in the Peace River. Broadest part measures 3 1/2". Found some other large pieces but also found a lot of LARGE (Big Boy) turtle pieces. Will post in another post. Thanks. SO GLAD to be back in the river. Cold but definitely doable in swimsuit - and I am a Floridian that walks around with a jacket at 70 degrees!

I am a farmer & hunter so I do know what hooves look like. Don't know much about fossils but this looks a lot like half a cloven hoof. Anyone seen similar?
