    Is this a fossil?

Hi! I found these two “stones” on a beach in Møn, Denmark today. The first photo I’m pretty sure is a fossil (I’m very new to this so not 100% sure, but I saw one similar to it at the møn geo centre) does anyone know specifically from what? as for the second one, I’ve done a bit of research and I’m pretty sure it is just flint, but just incase, can anyone identify if it’s anything interesting? thanks in advance!!

    Unknown Ivory horn

Hello all, This was found in a collection from my friend who passed away last year. It appears pretty old, I thought maybe rhino, but it seems a little short and stubby for that. Any thoughts as to animal this came from. I have no idea where it was found/purchased.

    Ceratopsian cheek horn?

Not sure on formation yet will update when I find out more. Seller says it's a cheek horn.

Please help ID horn shaped fossil

Found at an estate sale in Fayette County WV. I have no way of knowing the place of origin but the other fossils in his collection looked like the typical fern fossils and "kettle bottoms" normally found in the local area. This is a cone shape about 38" long and about 12" wide on the big end. The cone is squashed so the cross section is oval instead of round like a true cone. Appears to be the same type of slate or shale found locally. No way of knowing if this piece is local but The local geology is coal sandstone and shale. Any ideas?
  10. Hello, I posted previously on a tooth found on a creek gravel bar in central Oklahoma that may be bison or cow. I did some additional looking around in the same area of the creek and downstream about a hundred yards and found the specimens in the attached photos. For reference I am also including a picture that shows where the horn and skull fragment were found (bottom of embankment, indicated by red arrow). I also found a rib bone piece here but am not including any pictures of that one as it was a pretty small piece. The tooth was found in a gravel bar in the stream at the same location. The humerus (pretty sure that is a humerus?) was found mostly buried in stream mud about 50 feet downstream on the same side of the creek. I would be happy if anyone has any thoughts on what these bones originally belonged to. Sorry for the standard tape measure, I don't have a metric ruler at home. Thanks in advance for any ideas!

    North Sea Walrus Tusk?

Hi. Could anyone identify this please. My wife and I were walking on our local beach on the Isle of Sheppey in North Kent and spotted this. Doing a wee bit of research, we are edging towards a Walrus Tusk. it is about 11 inches long, is flat on the inner curve, both ends look like marrow (shame the narrow end had snapped off at some point on its journey), weighs about 2 1/2 lbs Can anyone please help identify this?

    Claw or horn core?

I really have no clue on this one. My best guess is some kind of Core of something. Seems to have bone structure inside. It is fossilized and heavy. Found in North Central Nebraska Miocene.
  13. Hello everyone! I’m a new member to the site but have been using and reading post for years for identification sources. I have a piece I found yesterday that I didn’t recognize and has me wondering. I found it where I have been digging mammoth remains and don’t see it coming from a mammoth. It’s fossilized bone and porous. Not sure if it’s a horn, bone, claw or what? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks

Hi all, Do you think this thing from the Lance formation in Weston co, Wyoming could be a proximal section of young Triceratops brow horn? Thanks!!

    Centrosaurus Nasal Horn?

Found chunks of what I originally thought was frill but quickly realized I found a horn! Wondering if it might be from a centrosaurus, I know they’re frequently found here. It appears to have the same curvature of what a centrosaurus horn would have but could be another ceratopsian possibly. Dinosaur Park fm

    Horn ID

Hi there, I've collected a lot of unique fossils and pieces through the years but admittedly, by far an expert. I hope to get some help to ID this horn. Collected from Indonesia Apparently collected alongside stegodon, tiger and crocodiles. Apparently found in material dating to the Pleistocene era. Found a few feet away from a lower jaw belonging to a rhino (see pictures).
  18. This fossil was recently handed down to a friend of mine. It was found on a family member's ranch near Cut Bank Montana in the 1950's. He remembers it being used as a door stop when he was a kid! What do we have here?

I have found this in Poland, think its old fossil, the bone that is broken looks awesome from top. What animal this might be.I also found an piece of horn aurochs? Also found a very nice stone with this broken bone, all looks very good, I put it all in glue ithat is used by paleontologist it calls vicol. I would like what animal might be the bone. And maybe someone will tell my something about the stone.
  20. Anyone can help me, is this piece a real rhino horn? Found in Javan island, indonesia. In my opinion, I doubt about this horn. because the hair like pasted only in the lower horn & had shinny lower horn. the length is 25 cm, and the width is 10cm. weight around 1kilograms Is the pattern typical of rhino? Thank you very much

    Triceratops brow horn section?

Hi, This didn't come in the mystery box, but maybe I can find a way to sneak it in... It's from the Hell Creek formation, Wibaux county, Montana. I'm thinking it's a section of Triceratops/Torosaurus brow horn, what do you think?

Found in the South Toe River

Hey all! We uncovered these two horn/tusk/tooth looking items under silt and huge rock on a bend in the South Toe River in Burnsville, NC. Any ideas? We thought maybe steer? They aren’t scratchable with a finger nail and one definitely has some pattern at the tip. We are more curious than anything to find out if anyone knows what they might be. Could totally just be roots or wood but thought we’d check.
