Hi there! I am new to not only this group but sea combing/searching for neat stuff. I was lucky enough to find a fossil sea urchin on my trip this past week to Myrtle Beach. I also found this. Initial (and secondary) thoughts had me thinking it was just a shell; however, after some more looking, something told me to hang onto it and look into it. Does anyone have an idea what it may be (or just a shell)? Thank you in advance.

Possible Fossilized Vertebra??? Found Yesterday at Otter Crest Beach "Devil's Punchbowl" Oregon
Wiccan_Reign posted a topic in Fossil ID
I found this yesterday beachcombing At Otter crest, just after high tide " King Tides" This Beach is between depoe Bay and Newport Oregon.. I also found 8 agatised gastropods and 2 agatised mollusk's.. but my question is what this belonged to?.. I'm sorry I only had a centimeter or inch to measure with... So I chose the centimeter.. the closest thing I can find online seems to be a Vertebra.. it is completely mineralized and in the light glitters like Crystal. I rock hound quite a bit, but this is out of my privy... Lol can anybody give me more information?- 2 replies

Restored/Composite Heteromorph?
Mochaccino posted a topic in Is It Real? How to Recognize Fossil Fabrications
Hello, new member here. I just purchased this heteromorph ammonite from what's considered a reputable website but I've started to get concerned on the authenticity of this specimen due to the heterogeneous coloration (some places dark, some places light). Is there a chance there's some fake pieces as a composite or perhaps heavy restoration? Also it was listed as eubostrychoceras indopacificum, but it looks different from photos of other such specimens. It seems more like a Nostoceras malagasyense, but perhaps I'm just mistaken?- 17 replies

Just wondering how old these might be. Found in NE Colorado along I-25. It must have been an old river bed or lake bottom. All of these were found in an area about 40 feet around. Many many more left behind. I tested one with a propane torch, they don't burn. Thank you for your expertise.

Found at 1000 ft elevation in the coastal foothills of Ventura County, (Southern) California (34.305441, -119.195121). I only brought home and cleaned up 3 small pieces, but they appear to have broken off the larger piece shown (outdoor photo). I stumbled upon this poking up out of the surface soil. I know nothing about fossils but I'm very cuious and am grateful for any help identifying. Thank you.

We recently had limestone tile flooring installed and selected a sample labeled "Fossil Tile". The wrapped packages indicated country of origin as Turkey. I have studied numerous features in the tile and believe they include belemnites or cephalopods, but there are irregular masses with bumpy linings that I'm unsure about. I'm interested in learning what region the stone may have come from, the geologic age and especially, the identification or possible identity of the "fossils". I've inspected broken tile edges for surface features that might tell more than the polished cross-sections, but fo
