Hi, My kiddos father picked this up at a flea market and was told by seller it was a megalodon tooth. He gave it to our son for Christmas. It doesn't look at all like a megalodon tooth to me. I had to manage my son's expectations when he opened it and let him know that it probably not be a megalodon tooth, but it's still really cool. I promised him I would try and find out what it is. My son is two weeks away from being 6, he has Asperger's and is absolutely obsessed with sharks. It's all he talks about. Would someone please identify this for me?

The files I have are too large, I’m hoping to be able to post more pictures in the thread. These items were found on the Jurassic coast in the uk. The item in this image is smooth and solid, albeit there are parts of it broken off, it was whole when we found it.

I found this a few years ago on a geology trip in Weymouth and never managed to ID it. It’s definitely got a shape to it and rings at each end, along with some pyrite. I would love to know if it is a bone of some sort!! I have more pictures if wanted.

Hey everyone, My friend has three shark teeth that he would want identified. Below are the three teeth. I think the left one is Mako, the middle is Otodus, and the right is baby or juvenile megalodon. What do you guys think? Thanks!

I've been sifting through a bucket of dirt I collected on my last dig in Cincinnati. I've come across these two pieces that has me scratching my head. Are they ammonites, snails, arms of a Isorophus? Not the most glorious finds but two that I am having some trouble while cataloging. Thanks all!

Hello, I'm new to this forum, from time to time I find fossils...bones, rocks, etc. I luckily found this forum which is great because most of the time as an amateur I don't know exactly what I've found. In this case, it's a bone fossil. It is 15" long x the belly is just under 3 inches and the beak is about 3" Thanks for any help that you can give! - Wow, I love that I can put as many photos as I want!!!

Against better judgement, I acquired a "keishosaurus" fossil. I trust the dealer - but not necessarily their source. I'm attaching some photos - please let me know your opinion - do you think it's a real one, "restored/painted", or a complete/near complete fake. The chip in the left forearm looks concerning to me. Any insight is appreciated.

Hi, I'm Keith. I am not a fossil hunter, alas I am from Massachusetts and the only fossils here are dino tracks. I'd love to go to a fossil hotbed for a vacation someday and hunt them out for real. Until then I must be content with just being a collector. My collection isn't huge or impressive, mostly shark tooth and some shells, coral, etc. Nice to be here!

I found two chunks of limestone from Madison group possibly lodgpole or Mission Canyon member. Take from upper belt Creek in Montana. At first I thought this was a coral. Is this a Bryozoan?

Hello, all. I am from Maryland but grew up in Sarasota, Florida. I collect Shark's teeth (mostly are from Venice Beach). I am not very experienced at identifying them, though I have a good collection. I decided to join the community because I have had 2 large shark's teeth for quite a long time and want to identify them and get an idea (if possible what they are worth). Your forum was suggested as a way to do this by this site: fossilera.com.

This is the second large shark's tooth. It was found by my father who lived in Sarasota Florida. No more information on where he found it. Was given to me upon his passing. The measurements are: 1 ½ inch (3.81 cm) wide, 2 ¼ inch (5.715 cm) long, ¼ inch (.635 cm) height. Here are some pictures as best as I could take them.

This is the first of 2 posts for 2 large shark's teeth. This one was found by myself on a shell driveway in Sarasota, Florida. Really. The dimensions are: 1 ¾ inch (4.445 cm) wide, 2 ½ inch (6.35 cm) long, height is ¾ inches (1.905 cm), tip curves up approx. ¼ inches (.635 cm), the width (from top to bottom) of the inside triangle shape is 5/16 inch (0.79375 cm). Here are some pictures as best as I can take them. Can you help me ID this tooth?

Morning! I was fossil hunting along Colvert Cliff, NC this week and saw a weird formation in the cliff wall line. I found a plate with unusual organisms on it. They are fossilized and really bizarre. I found it close in proximity to a previous post on a plate found with pasterns on it. These items were found in the wall of the cliff that is eroding away and I'm sure became visible after that location had a violent storm pass through. Any thoughts or identification would be appreciated! Gray coloration on the specimen is clay... which I am removing as best as I can. The coloration around it is the actual fossil.

Hi guys, I am not even sure if this is the correct place to ask, but lets give it a try. This past weekend I visited my hometown, Tampico in Mexico (right in the center of the Gulf of Mexico). It is a beach town, and it also has a big River that goes into the ocean so it has been a major port for many years. Recently the local governmet decided to do some maintenance on the beach promenade. A bunch of big rocks were moved from the Tamuin area (112 kms west from Tampico) and basically dumped along the promenade to contain the waves. The rocks have many shapes on their surface and different colors. I am extremely curious to find out what they are, but being an accountant I am absolutely clueless. If anyone knows what these are or can direct me to another forum where I could ask please please lemme know.

My 7-year old nephew got a bag of tiny sharks teeth at the beach, and since Uncle K (me) has a display of large fossilized sharks teeth in his office, I must be able to ID his teeth for him. There are 11 teeth TBI, in 7 seperate photos, so I'll post them in a series Please help!!!!! Uncle K
