    Topanga State Beach, California

I'm brand new here. My kids and I were at Topanga State Beach today and though we've been thousands of times before, this was the first time we found fossils! We found lots of rocks packed with small shell fossils, but then this one was much larger. The photos are all from the same one rock, different angles and sides. Any idea what it is (or maybe it's just a large shell)? Any idea how old it is?

    Dinosaur tooth identify Ceratopsian

Hello I got a ceratopsian tooth from the USA (Morrison or Judith formation 5ou I have to double check) and I was wondering if it’s possible to identify? It’s either an agujaceratops or a bravoceratops I was told but I’m new to this sort of species and was hoping for a help identifying. Thanks in advance for your comments!

    Identification

Can someone help me identify this fossil? It isn't a knightia or Mioplosus and that's all I've done so far.

    ID HELP PLEASE!

This was found near the Farmdale Geologic Exposure, and I am having a heck of a time identifying it; I'm used to your typical bryozoa, crinoid, and brachiopod - not this! The inner, u-shaped part looks biological, and is packed with a more clay-sourced material around it, and perhaps inside? I've taken numerous pictures to try to give a full look at this weird find. The outermost rock layer can flake off of picked. I'm not even 100% convinced it's a fossil, but i'm having trouble coming up with what in the world it could be. Please help me out!
  6. Hi everyone! With my 6 years old son we have bought this precious tooth in a prestigious shop at Barcelona. They have tell us that is a Mosasaurus tooth, but I think not. It looks more a Spinosaurus tooth, maybe (sorry if I'm talking absurdity, I'm totally newbie...). The teller at shop was not the usual one, and it was not possible to ask him more information. Please, may you help me to identify the correct "former owner" for this tooth? My son and I will be very grateful for that. I'm posting some photos for the piece. The first one is from the other pieces at shop, that we didn’t bought. The size for rule is in centimeters. Thanks a lot for your kindness!
  7. Hi everyone! This tooth was found at Perú, at Nazca desert zone. I'm supposing that is a Megalodon tooth but maybe, you experts, could give me some more extra information about kind of Megalodon, size or age... I don't know really, but my son is asking me about and some more expert information will help me a lot ;-). The size for rule is in centimeters. Thank you very much for your kindness!
  8. New to fossils and seeking to find out if the fossil is a legit dinosaur before buying. Not much info on the piece

    Need help identifying please!

Found this in the bottom of a creek bed in Cleburne Texas. I think it's bone. Maybe a fin or a tiny rib cage. Anybody have any ideas? I forgot to put a comparison next to it but the fossil is quarter size. The entire piece is about 2 quarters in length.

    Fossil ID: Petrified wood?

My late father found this when clearing land in central Mississippi in the 1980’s. It’s been on his property since then and he always believed it was petrified wood. Can anyone help ID? It measures 27” x 12”.

    Mirrorlike mineral

Found this beauty on a walk today in haut-languedoc and was curious to what it exactly is. The stone is about 5 cm wide. The mirrorlike stone in the middle is so reflective that i can see myself in it (doesnt show well on pictures). There were a couple smaller ones like it ranging from colors similar to this to pitch black. Anybody got a clue to with this exactly is, some sort of crystal?

    Not identified lot

Hello Sorry to say but i dont have experience in fossiles. Anyone able to identify these have all my thanks. I live in a mining town in Serbia. I was hiking and i stumbled upon a strange stone. It was the bottom one. I took a look around soon i found two more, the one above it and the one to the right. Those 3 pieces were the outer layer that fell of from the one on the left. The one on the top is different from all. Not far from there i found two more. The left one On this picture it reminds me of a big pepper cut in half since it has that coloring all the way around but inner. The structure is similar to the left one on the previous picture. The right one On this picture on the top there is a hole like change of materia. On the other two picture there can be seen some lines on it.

Any idea what this is? hoof?

Hi everyone, I was hoping someone could identify this or tell me if its something interesting. I was digging a bush out of my yard and hit it with a shovel, sounded much different than a rock so I washed it off. It was found in clay but this soil/ clay mix was brought in by a truck from somewhere after the house was built to level the backyard. I thought it was a very unusual piece to be found in the yard. Any ideas? Let me know if any other pictures would help. Thanks Chuck

    Possible Fossil Egg - Scotland

Happy Easter to everybody and hopefully you can help identify the following: Found a 2 " egg shaped object, Penicuik, Midlothian, Scotland in a field which has had a small hole previously drilled on one side. The egg object is hollow inside and the shell is about 2mm thick and feels like solid rock and sounding when tapped. The item has various minute cracking across its surface as shown by the attached photographs. I have also tried to show the hole and depth of cavity using a dart inserted into the object. It appears too clean an object to be a fossilized egg, however, how did the cracking and cavity occur if it is indeed a rock? Any help appreciated and stay safe, regards, Paul (newbie)
