I went fossil hunting for the first time on a private piece of land near chippokes state park. I’ve always loved buying fossils and rocks but just recently took the leap to hunting for fossils for myself. I need help identifying some of these. Any advice would help.

Hello. This is my first real post to these forums, so let me know if I do something incorrectly. I found these last year in Montana, USA. For the first one, I’m not quite sure where the fossil ends and the rock begins. I am worried about accidentally chipping away the fossil. It's 10x5.5cm. Here is the piece in question: I also found two other large pieces. The first I will call “trident” (because it has three prongs). It's 8 x 7.5cm. I am wondering where the rock begins and fossil ends on this one as well: And the last one, which is 5 x 4cm: Thank you and good luck! -
Good Morning, I was hoping some more knowledgeable trilobite enthusiasts could help point me in the right direction here - I received this trilobite (see attached photos) as a gift from family members who traveled to Morocco back in 2017. I have very little information about it - it appears to have been found in a concretion, it is reportedly ~500 MYO, and it was purchased from a vendor by the side of the road in the Atlas Mountains (unfortunately specific locality was not requested or provided at time of purchase). I imagine it is one of the more common species, I was hoping for an ID and any other information folks may have. Thank you, -Connor

Hocking Hills, Ohio Hopefully these are clearer pics. I have too many to upload all so I included pics of vertebrates where they were squished. A couple pics of skin and tongues also. I really appreciate everyone’s opinions, thanks!

Hello, I found this on a stroll near a rocky shore in Salem, Massachusetts. My questions: Are these simple shell fossils? or possibly vertabrae? any ideas on the minimum age? (how long it would take to turn into this) or the likely age? This is approximately 5.08 cm (2 inches) at its widest. It was found at surface level among many other rocks near a fairly well traveled tourist(y) spot. I realize this is probably overkill for what is almost assuredly a very common thing but I still find the little rock interesting.

Found this rock at half moon bay in California. It leaks out a black tar substance and I have no idea what it is. It has 4 little prongs that look like tooth roots and it’s shaped like a molar. Any help would be appreciated.

Found three teeth that I’m not sure of on the ID, I think the curved one is a dolphin tooth, but that is my best bet

Hi all Very new to this but we found this in Suffolk England in a shallow valley under 1.5 meters of sand and flint in the top 200mm of a deep layer of grey clay with some chalk and flint in it. on its own

Going thru my box of geodes and found what possibly could be Dino egg...need help to identify this fossil...found this in northern Iowa in my husband’s grandmother’s rocks outside in her flower bed...may not originally be from Iowa. Approximate Measurements: 5” long. 10.1cm wide 4” wide. 7.6cm wide

Hello, I posted some photos in a different area and was directed to use this group for IDing fossils. Here are several photos of 3 teeth from Folly Island (SC) that I picked up this weekend. I believe that 2 of the 3 are Bull Shark teeth...but which ones? And what is the other shark represented here? The serrations on the tooth on the left in the 1st photo are more pronounced than the other two. But the root / root lobe of the 3rd tooth differs from the other two. I hope the photos are sufficiently detailed. Thanks in advance!

This past weekend I was at Folly Beach SC (near Charleston). I posted a picture of my finds earlier but added a few more specimens. I'm hoping to get some assistance identifying what shark species these teeth belonged to. The smaller ones are a mix but I'm most interested in the teeth within the white boxes. I'm pretty sure that the Sand Tiger teeth are indeed that. The top 2 Tiger Shark teeth are pretty obvious. Is the bottom tooth a Tiger Shark or perhaps a Thresher Shark? What I'm most unsure of are the Great White teeth. I'm confident that the top 2 are indeed Great White teeth. What about the 4 bottom ones? As a size reference the largest Tiger Shark tooth is 27mm across and 20mm in height.

Hello everyone! I am new to TFF and am very excited for my future in paleontology! On my first trip to Hogtown Creek in Gainesville, Florida I came across an unusual find. While I hear that shark teeth are plentiful, I instead found this small, porous inch long or so object. It was found on the side of the creek, partially buried in some sand. I am not sure what this could be, perhaps a fossil or just some sort of wood? If anyone has any tips on where to look for fossils in the Gainesville area (specifically near the University of Florida) please don't hesitate to let me know! Thank you and have a great day!

Hi everyone, I've no exact location for this crinoid fossils, only just to say they are from the UK. Although there is some obvious crystal on the reverse and around the side if that's any help. Any additional help will be gladly received.

Unknown fossil bivalves from the UK, the only clue I have so far is what appears to be written on the side of the matrix which is the word “Lias”. I've looked in an old edition of The British Mesozoic fossils book but can’t quite find a possible match.
