  1. Hello! This topic will show my personal finds from the Ignaberga Quarry, Sweden. Ignaberga is a quarry in Skåne County, Sweden. It is in the Kristianstad Basin. The age is Upper Cretaceous. Santonian to Maastrichtian. But most of the outcrops are Lower Campanian in age. The environment was a warm to subtropical shallow inland sea with an archipelago and small Peninsulas. I will be updating this thread with pictures of my finds. Enjoy & regards - Adriano

    Ignaberga crumbling matrix

I have noticed that in ignaberga. The rocks in matrix are very crumbly. How do i fix it? And for me its pain to prep. Like this shell in the gaps theres really hard matrix. And the black stuff that some told me was magnesium oxide. Its really hard to remove them i need to scrape it off with dental picks. Some said toothbrushes work for them. Tried it sometimes it removes them but not often. Should i just keep to scrape them off? Risk of damaging the fossil? I do have cyanoacrylate Will that help the crumbling rocks?

  16. Next friday im traveling to skåne sweden first im going to bjärsjölagård i have heard u can find sea scorpions is that true? Really wanna find one and then im going to ignaberga i really want to find shark teeth and marine reptile bones and teeth and crocodiles. Also sea urchins and big shells i know that belemites are often found there. I have heard people have found ammonites? Many people have said that some layers are more older or have more teeth altough not sure at what location how do i find that out? And have people maybe found skulls of marine reptiles. And should i look in the loose area or split rocks both? And what should i look for to try to find more bigger bones skulls/paddles/vertebraes And maybe jaws? I have looked online but only a site i think was called paleontica im not sure tho that u can find ammonites and marine repitles and dinosaurs.
