Hi, I'm interested in this fossil that is listed as a Theropod Ilium bone from the Kem Kem (21cm in length). I wanted to ask if there are enough diagnostic features to identify it as belonging to a theropod or does it resemble something from a crocodyliform instead? Thanks!

Hello fellow forum members, some time ago I acquired what I thought of as a theropod ilium from the kem kem . it just crossed my mind that it could be another kind of archosaur alltogether, maybe a crocodylomorph? What do you think? At the moment i can not take more pictures of it easily, but maybe one is enough? Thanks and regards, J

Found this on the beach of Amelia Island. I'm pretty confident that it is bone, but not sure what bone or what animal. Any help is appreciated.

Nothing spectacular just a paper describing an ilium from an Abelsaurid from the Kem Kem beds of Morocco. I wanted to document this since we occasionally see this type of material for sale and all are described as Spinosaurus. Good to see this type of material published...now how about teeth https://journals.plos.org/plosone/article?id=10.1371/journal.pone.0214055 An abelisaurid (Dinosauria: Theropoda) ilium from the Upper Cretaceous (Cenomanian) of the Kem Kem beds, Morocco Slimane Zitouni, Christian Laurent , Gareth dyke, Nour-Eddine Jalil Published: Apri

I received this Kem Kem ilium in the post today. It's a rather nice piece, if a little nibbled and in need of quite a lot of prep. As far as I can see, it's totally original with no restoration, but one repaired crack. It was described as a juvenile spinosaurus ilium. I always take such descriptions with a very large pinch of salt. Obviously there were plenty of other dinosaurs in Kem Kem, so I suppose it could be from a fully-grown, but smaller species. I am confident that it's dinosaur and not crocodile, since croc iliums tend to be stockier, with the socket closed at one side. B

Hi, just wanted to check if this fossil for sale is likely to be from a theropod. It is a ilium pelvic bone just under 20 inches in length. From what i can gather, theropod ilium's are wide and thin?. Thanks.

I haven't been able to place it, yet. I figure if I come across someone has familiar knowledge of bones like that, there's a much better chance of recognizing it, than someone just using pics and stuff.
