I found this at Flag Ponds yesterday. It has the qualities of fossil bone to it, but the spiral imprint in the middle of it looks to perfect. What are your ideas?

This is being sold as a Lambeosaurus skin section from the Judith River Formation, Montana. Size of the skin section is 15 cm / 6 inch. I have strong doubts about this, it doesn't look like other Hadrosaur skin impressions or even like any other dinosaur skin impressions I've seen. In my opinion the 'patches' are way too irregular in shape and size compared to other examples. Don't know what it is, looks more like something with drought cracks to me. Any opinions on this?

I found this possible print in Northern NJ near the Delaware River in Sussex County about 10 years ago. Just looking to ID and/confirm what it may be. There are no signs of clawmarks which is why I'm thinking Ornithopod. Any info or comments are most welcome. Thanks!

one of my favorites in the collection. I dont know where it comes, but it's beautiful to show and display. I bought this piece at the beginning of the year when my love for fossils was leading me into collecting. It was one of the pieces that encouraged me to continue in this beautiful hobby, which I hope to dedicate myself to someday. These Ammonites means lot to me. I wish you all a New Year full of fossils and prosperity! Álvaro

I visited a creek that connects to Lake Ontario, and I found this rock. The black area looks like some kind of imprint to me, and more specifically a flower or leaf - but I really have no idea. Maybe coral? I did find a beautiful rock with crystallized favosites coral there too. Does this look familiar to anyone?

Keichousaurus skin imprint
Crazyhen posted a topic in Is It Real? How to Recognize Fossil Fabrications
This specimen of Keichousaurus is manually prepped. Note that there are some seemingly "remains" of skin at the stomach and pelvic region. Any idea if that could really be imprint of skin remains?- 3 replies

Hi, We found this on the beach in Southern Sweden (Skanör). The whole stone is about 35X20mm, the fossil part about 12mm long. I'm guessing it's an imprint of something? I'm a total newbie in fossil identification, any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I usually find Cretaceous period fossils in the area where I found this. Does this look like a real fossil or is it more likely to be man-made? Here are 3 pics of the back, side and top. It's about 4 inches long and is not very heavy.

I started collecting shells at the beach..then noticed fossils. I recently found this.Is it even a fossil? I thought it strange because similar markings on each side. It is about the size of a quarter. Thanks for any help.

Great to know this group exists. I’ve collected fossils all over the Mid Atlantic for fun over the last few decades and now live on the coast in far northeastern Maine. Not many fossils here because of glacial scour, but there are some pockets of marine fossils here and there. So I was surprised when my wife brought this home after a walk to our town’s beach she brought home a rock in the photos. Looking closely, I could believe that a matching footprint was worn away just to the left. That is, if this is indeed a footprint. Thanks for your thoughts.

So I’ve just come back from the Barack and clean up what I found (removed all sand and gunk) and I had come across some shells, unusual crystals (probably quartz) and a fossil leaf and stem imprint (for size the red shell is around the size of the average hand) If anyone has any info on any of these would be a big help

Hey all! Found these in a pile of different rocks near my home in western NY. Pretty sure that they are not from here naturally but it is possible. Anyways I’m pretty sure that one of them is a shell imprint looks like spriffer or something similar but not sure about the other two. Also is the lump on the back of the darker rock anything? Thanks for the help!

I found this rock in a area not logged in any geological map except one French map from 1963 which logged it as Cretaceous with a question mark. It is surrounded by Precambrian mountains and sedimentary rocks just randomly pop out so I thought I should investigate. Near Makkah Saudi Arabia. I found volcanic, Precambrian and sedimentary rocks there which confused me . Anyways I was wondering if this is a fossil and if it is the. What type

Hello, I'm from The Netherlands. (Excuse me if my English isn't perfect) A few years ago I found this grey stone amidst the garden gravel near my house. It was bigger and duller in comparison to the rest of the gravel. When I inspected the stone I discovered that it wasn't so dull after all because on one side it had a small imprint of a star that appeared to be made out of tiny bumps and ridges that extend and surround the star itself in the shape of a circle. I've always been curious to know what it is!

I found this at a man made lake, so there was alot of deep digging in order for them to make the lake. Lake Miramar is in San Diego but a little north east of the metropolitan area.

Hello Everyone! I have found some of these while Rockhounding in Rio Rancho, NM as well as near Nageezi, NM areas. I THINK they are possibly Acorn tops, or possibly even an Oak seed? But, I am not for certain! It is driving me NUTS not knowing what they are. My boyfriend thinks they may possibly be reminisce of shell casings, as he found some nearby... I am almost certain they are not she'll casings. But, When I have found them, they aren't all over, rather specific areas. I have found them as small as a BB all the way up to the size of a small dinner plate in diameter. And whenever I've found them, they aren't whole. They seem to always have the same similarities of the ones I've found in the past. They always seem to be hollow, though full of sandstone in the center/core... Some seem to be almost perfectly round, and others more like the Acorn shape we know today... Please, if anyone can tell me for certain what they may be, I would be so grateful. I am not needing for any other reason than my own knowledge and the fact that it is driving me nuts not knowing for certain! Thanks in advance for your input!

Went for a walk today through Dinosaur Park in Alberta. Came across this and took a picture of it. Is this a leaf imprint? If so does anyone know the name of the tree or plant?
