Some of you may recall that towards the end of last year, I bought myself a usb microscope. The aim was primarily to have a closer look at my amber inclusions. Also used it to magnify my regular fossils too. After having read through some of the threads on this sub-forum, I decided to delve into the realm of micro-fossils. Had a look online. And found a good deal on that auction site. 28 x 50 gram sachets matrix. Spanning various time periods. According to the seller, it is primarily invertebrate material. Am planning on getting started on the weekend.

Hi to Forum members; I am an amateur rock collector who likes to look for fossils. For the most part I have not found anything fantastic but I am hopeful. I kindly request any information and or comments about a recent flint specimen from my back garden in Ipswich, Tuddenham Road. I have other photos of the flint that show unusual structures. On those photos, I used my photo app to adjust the exposure to get more fine detail. If it will help, I would gladly share. Also from my back garden, I found a petrified seed/pod/nut shell. Can someone help me identify what it is. May thanks! Munchy2

Unfortunately I don’t have much useful detail to share with you here. I found this in Illinois at the bottom of a bridge filled with slabs of rock blasted from God-knows-what quarry. It other slabs like it contained fragments of brachiopod shells and calymene trilobites. It is about 4 1/2cm in diameter. My best guess was a jellyfish or something similar; a geologist whom I showed it to agreed, but honestly neither of us were at all confident in our assessment. Thoughts?
