Had these different colored iron ore glass on flower bed for sometime. looked around and looks that they actually have some worth to them surprisingly. anybody who knows if Iron ore slag glass is rare or actually worth anything etc. Found them many years ago in the oilfield to what I think was a old industrial iron ore smelting facility. Long gone know and this stuff was everywhere. My dumb arss thought I found a meteorite etc. I did not. any help or id or price that could be potentially obtained for these pieces. big obsidian looking ones are very big hard to tell from pics. Heavy as all get out also. The big one with obsidian looking face is probably 50 or 60 pounds. thanks callahan

These two rocks were found in East Texas, mostly Eocene. Property is on Carrizo-Wilcox aquifer. Dry land in wooded area. I've read some about how hematite is formed so I guess this is normal to see a shell and what I think is matrix? Is the shell a print or a shell? Idea of age? Then there's the tubes in the second rock. Is that what those are? Thanks so much for any help.

Limonite is a type of iron-rich mineral found in igneous formations. It was once used as a source of iron ore and in Delaware was mined for the purpose for two centuries. Limonite tends to form with vugs of easily-weathered minerals, including druse quartz, which leave behind gaping holes and slots. It is easy to picture skulls and other bones in these rocks, whether freshly fractured or stream-worn. This one always reminded me of a dragon skull. -
I have found a large amount of rocks that are strongly attracted to my neodymium magnets. Could this be from iron ore in the rock or does it mean it is a meteor?
