    Finally got the display ready for a large pliosaurus jaw section and tooth fragment (pliosaurus kevani) from Kimmeridgian Clay, Weymouth Bay, Dorset UK Smaller tooth fragment in individual case is Pliosaurus Ferox from Oxford Clay, Peterborough UK 160 million years ago attached close up pictures below thanks for looking!     Hello I saw this jaw section online for sale, I was wondering what it could be from, the seller listed as albertosaurus but I highly doubt that for many reasons. Anyways I wanted to know what dinosaur group it may have came from, I was thinking maybe ceratopsian or hadrosaur? It’s from Judith river, I also was wondering how (if possible) you tell the difference between a theropod and herbivore jaw section. Many thanks

    Dredged from the Smallmouth Sands off Weymouth Harbor, Dorset. Specimen is from the Late Jurassic Epoch, Kimmeridgian Age Clay - between 157.3 to 152.1 +/- Ma (million years ago). Specimen has an exposed tooth (root portion) with enamel measuring 4.72 inches in length and 1.67 inches in width (see measurements all taken with digital calipers). Other measurements include 3.38" in specimen width (maxillary bone) Tooth position appears to be tooth #6 from the very tip of the snout, including the two tiny teeth at the terminus. This is based on angle of projection, texture, and the distinctive bone seam that is visible in some of the photos (#12 in particular) as well as the diagram of P. kevani. Tooth position is indicated via a red dot on diagram. There are also sensory pits (foramina) visible on the outer side of the specimen, as well as exposed bone on the inside portion. A few holes bored in the bone from some sort of marine organism (worms perhaps) prior to fossilization.

    I have never found a jaw like this. The only thing I can find that is similar is tapir which would be pretty rare for this area. Found in south central South Dakota. Miocene

    Strange Jaw Fragment--No Teeth

    I was digging through old boxes of Un-ID'd material to look for something else and came across this jaw fragment I found a while back. It has no teeth, so I thought the chance for ID was slim. But it does have a distinctive morphology with a large foramen running the length, so maybe someone will recognize it. Boxes are one inch square.

    Can anyone identify this tooth? I found it in a creek here in southwest Mississippi. I find a lot of mastodon parts, but this unusual. I am new here. It is incased in dry hard clay.

    Saw this for sale, not sure whether it’s real or what species of animal it came from, but looks like plesiosaur? It was “purchased at the Tucson Gem & Mineral Show.“ it weighs 6.1 pound and the bottom jaw is about 9.5 inches long, the top is about 9 inches.

    I found what are claimed to be Basilosaurus jaws online, and I can't decide whether they're authentic. They definitely have real material, but I have a suspicion that they might be composites.     Gar teeth?

    I was out of town for about 2 weeks and I had a chance to go fossil hunting at a pretty good spot (that post should come out soon). This is a piece of jaw one of my friends found with two teeth in it. Based off of the amount of gar scales found there my closest guess would be gar jaw, could anyone correct me on that? (Entering the pictures I notice that measurements are missing, it's about one cm.) Thank you!

    Hey all Is this little fossil a partial Ejchodus jaw? The piece on the left certainly looks like one of their famous fangs (although I'm not 100% I'm correct) but the bits to the right do not look like the little needle teeth, or teeth at all. The bone texture flows in to those bumps. Scale is in cm

    Hey everyone! I made an account just to ask this question from some real experts: is this Mosasaur jaw real? I bought a tooth from the same shop and the matrix looked the same: some bones scattered about in the dirt and rock. (It’s the one right under my pinkie I’m the image) I’m a little thrown off because, well firstly, the shop traveled to vendor at a fair and that seems a little suspicious. Secondly, they’re selling other items that are commonly faked from Morocco like Trilobites. I really want this to be real but I can’t justify buying a fake…

    Fish jaw? ID Campanian Sweden

    Found this bone of what I think is a jaw from a fish. Åsen locality Scania Sweden. Upper lower Campanian. Nearshore/deltaic enviroment. Greensand. Bone is 6 cm long and has a row of small "sockets" for teeth? Fish teeth found on the location is Enchodus, Protosphyraena, Pachyrhizodus... other finds include Tylosaurus, Clidastes, sharks, rays, turtles and chimaerids. Happy for any help on ID.
