Hi, I saw this for sale, apparently a lower left jaw of a small theropod dinosaur. It is 12cm long and from the Kem Kem beds. It also apparently has predation marks on it. I wanted to ask if indeed this is a theropod lower jaw or if it is something else like a crocodile jaw. Also the description says it is probably from an Abelisaurid, is it possible to narrow it down to family level?. Thanks.

found this on a spoil pile, dirt layer above soft limestone which sits above shale. Not from the area (Allen,Texas) so I don't know the period etc.

hello! I recently acquired this fossil jaw bone, it was stated that it was an elk fossil found in the Missouri River... I was wondering if anyone could give me an exact species? Also, the person unfortunately went sloppy wild with some 50/50 glue and it's smeared on the jaw bone and even covering some of the chewing surfaces of the teeth. Any hints on the best way to remove some of it?

I bought this a few years ago at a rock and mineral event. I don’t know what it is and if it is real. It seems very legit. I’m trying to sell it soon on eBay to make some extra cash. I don’t know much about fossils and I’m hoping someone can help. Thanks

I saw this fossil online. Does anyone know what it is? It is some jaw with teeth in matrix but what is it from? It is from Oued Zem, Morocco. Thanks (This is the only picture I have)

Hello, I saw this jaw on the Internet and I was wondering if it was real (because it is being sold for very cheap) To me the jaw looks ok compared to other fake jaws, but the teeth look a bit weird... These are the only two pictures I have. What do you think? Regards

Hello. I was IDing some fish jaws and I'm stumped on this one. I'm thinking sphyraenus barracuda, since this jaw came from Florida. It's 3 inches exact, tooth sockets approx 3/8'' for the larger ones.

Hi everyone, I'm not very involved with fossil collecting (more into sport cards as the name implies), but I bought this jaw fossil a while back and would like to request some identification help. Thanks guys!

I was thinking about buying this cave hyena jaw but am not knowledgable enough to know if it's legit or not..., they say its from Mongolia .Any advice would be appreciated!

I'm considering purchasing this platecarpus jaw. The only thing is......I'm not sure its platecarpus at all. It certainly looks mosasaur to me, but something about the spacing between the teeth seems off.....maybe halisaurus? The jaw is 8.66 inches long, it's from morocco (ouled abdoun basin), and it's currently labeled as platecarpus ptychodon. any help would be greatly appreciated!

I bought this fossil at the Tucson Gem and Mineral show and I was wondering what it was. It may have been a marine creature because these people had a lot of mosasaurus and shark teeth.

Someone I read a joking statement that paleontology is primarily "the study of fossil teeth and jaws." Teeth and jaw fossils do appear to predominate.... I understand why tooth fossils are common- teeth are very hard, and many creatures replace teeth repeatedly. But why are jaw fossils common?

I was able to attend the Tucson show over the weekend, and as always, found some goodies I could afford. Both of these are from Morocco, and both are still quite a mess, unfortunately. The partial skull has had some filling on the teeth, but I know that's usually the standard procedure before selling, and I understand that. I'd love to have both of them prepared and have an identification tag for them if possible. I know they can be notoriously difficult to identify at times, but I thought it'd be worth a try!

Found these teeth/jaw bone in a Florida creek. I researched it to be of Bison teeth which would make sense but found some similarities of Camel which would be interesting to find in Florida. I was wondering about what years it may be from?

Hi there, I'm new to the fossil forum, and was hoping I could get help in identifying this jaw. It was found in Marmarth, North Dakota in the Hell Creek Formation. I don't have any more specifics on location besides that. I hope the pictures are detailed enough, but if not, I can post more. I am thinking it has to be some kind of fish, but I am not completely sure. Any direction or help would be wonderful! Thank you so much!
