I am looking to use a cave bear molar as the charm for a necklace; My thoughts were to insert a ring into the hollow of the root and attach it with epoxy glue. There is also a very small crack in the enamel, and I am looking to strengthen it all over. I would be grateful to hear any advice on this. Thanks

Denver Mineral, Fossil Gem & Jewelry Show 2021
Top Trilo posted a topic in General Fossil Discussion
Yesterday (9-11-2021) I went to the Denver fossil show. It was my first time going and I really enjoyed it. Most of the show was minerals and gems and jewelry however there were quite a few fossils. Unfortunately, most were Moroccan. There were some Pleistocene fossils, Meg teeth, USA Dino material and a few other things. Well might as well start with the photos. Let’s start with the few mineral pictures i took. Next up the Moroccan material which dominated the fossils present. -
I found this ring for sale online that claims it was made from a polished dinosaur bone. I feel like this is a long shot, but can anyone verify if it looks like authentic? The seller says it was originally purchased from Dino Fossils and comes with a COA, but I know anyone can make a COA these days lol. Thanks!

Gemstonefreak posted a topic in Questions & Answers
Hello, I recently purchased this Canadian ammolite pendant on eBay, and I'm questioning its authenticity? It looks dark at certain angles. It only looks resplendent when exposed to a significant amount of light. thanks- 13 replies

I took my dad out to collect some carboniferous fern fossils from a coal mine tailings heap. He wants to combine the fossils with his woodworking, perhaps making pendents or embedding them into recesses in boxes as decorative embellishments. Some of the fern fossils are slightly darker than the matrix they're in, but for the most part they're not as visible as we would like. Is there any straightforward way to stain or treat the specimen such that the fossil portion stands out better visually from the matrix? Ideally, some sort of stain that would have a greater effect on the fossil portion than on the matrix. Or (and I fear this is the case) would it be a matter of painstakingly hand-painting/staining the fossil?

I was reading an article that the ancient Egyptians made their jewelry from minerals found in meteorites. More info can be found at this link: http://www.naturalnews.com/041723_ancient_egyptians_jewelry_meteorites.html It looks like the Egyptians made good use of extraterrestrial elements when making their own jewelry. Other than the Egyptians, were there any other ancient peoples who made jewelry from metals in extraterrestrial objects? Would it possible today to use extraterrestrial elements in asteroids to make jewelry?
