I have not posted anything for quite a while as I have been very busy doing prep for a number of dealers and a major Museum. Unfortunately without their permission I cannot post what are some spectacular pieces. I figured I deserved to do a piece for myself for a change. Started this one on the Sep. 19th and finished this afternoon. I did not really track the time but probably in the 6 to 8 hour range. Unfortunately the fellow that split the rock in Morocco was not the gentlest on the bug. The matrix was in three pieces before I glued it back together. There is no restoration or coating on thi

Hey everyone, I got to prep a few of my Oklahoma trilobites yesterday and they didn’t come out too bad. It was my first time ever and I did make some mistakes but it’s ok they are mine anyway lol. I hope I can do more prep. I have so many more I want to uncover . I messed around with a few lower quality specimens and I had a hard time figuring out the machine so I didn’t get a lot done. I did learn a lot and hopefully I’ll get to do more sometime. I’m going to attach some “transformation” photos as well.

This is one of my favourite piece in my collection. It is a Kettneraspis in defending position that I got from an unexperienced private seller in Paris who sold it me for 1/4 of the price. Really Nice detail and shapes, unfortunately missing eye and left tip of the spine, could do with some preparation and repairing but I don't have the tools because they are quite expensive... Apart from that really happy. Hope you like the post

This is a interesting piece with two specimens (a complete Kettneraspis aff. pigra and an unidentified one) fossilized facing ventrally with respect to one another. Two questions: 1) What period is this matrix?; 2) What species is the incomplete one? Dimensons of cranidium plus first thoraxic segments at the pictures: 1,3 x 1,9 cm Thanks in advance for your opinions. Miguel
