Delphinodon dividium and others; my work in the New Jersey Kirkwood (Paleocene-Miocene)
frankh8147 posted a topic in Fossil Hunting Trips
Hello everyone! This trip report represents over a year and half of work (intermittent between my trips to the New Jersey Cretaceous) at a Kirkwood formation spot in New Jersey. I was happy to be invited by a few friends and had a great time digging outside of my normal streams! As you can probably tell from the title, I'm really highlighting one particular specimen - the Delphinodon dividium tooth. From all the research we have done; it appears to be the first appearance of this from New Jersey and the Northernmost occurrence in the eastern USA. I did have this looked- 20 replies

I haven't been collecting in a while as I've been really busy but yesterday I was free so I went to an Eocene/Miocene site in Nj. It was nice to be out collecting at my favorite site again and I did pretty well. I did pretty well quantity wise and I found some nice teeth like a couple nice makos. My father didn't find much because he only dug for a short amount of time but he did find a 1 1/4 inch chub. Unfortunately the only chub I found this trip is very beat up.
